2025 Season Recap
Jahmyr Gibbs was one of the most dominant running backs in fantasy football in 2025, finishing as the overall RB3 in full PPR scoring with 366.9 points (RB4 in half-PPR formats, behind McCaffrey, Robinson, and Taylor) with 1,839 yards from scrimmage and 18 total touchdowns across all 17 starts. Week 12 against the Giants was the kind of game people talk about for years: 219 rushing yards, two rushing scores, 11 catches, and another receiving touchdown, making him only the second player in NFL history to rush for 200-plus yards and record 10-plus receptions in the same game, joining LaDainian Tomlinson. Three straight Pro Bowl selections. Forty-four career touchdowns in just three seasons. This guy is a different kind of player.
2026 Fantasy Outlook
The case for Gibbs is airtight and the consensus RB1 tag is well earned. David Montgomery is gone to Houston, which means for the first time in his career, Gibbs has this backfield entirely to himself. He played 67 percent of Detroit's snaps in 2025 while still sharing with Montgomery. That number is going way up. He is a true three-down back who set career highs in targets (94), receptions (77), and receiving yards (616) last season. At 24 years old he is entering the peak of his career with a clean bill of health and no reason to slow down. He is one of maybe three or four players in this entire sport capable of single-handedly winning you a fantasy championship. Take him first overall and sleep well.
