ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Tom Brady wants the Bucs to trade for Odell Beckham.
This follows a February report from ESPN's Jeff Darlington that Brady was intrigued by the prospect of acquiring OBJ in the offseason. Schefter was skeptical the team could get a deal done as Tampa pushes to retain Chris Godwin and other free agents. OBJ's cap hit for 2021 is around $16 million. "While Tampa Bay and Tom Brady might want Odell Beckham Jr. there, can they fit in his contract?" Schefter said. "Can they make that work? I guess you could always try to make due with whatever you want, but I think it's challenging to fit a wide receiver in at that number on top of everything else they're trying to get done there." Beckham, 28, hasn't played a full season since 2016. His 2020 season ended with an ACL tear in Week 7. A healthy OBJ alongside Godwin and Mike Evans would make for the league's premiere wide receiver group. Mar 09 8:40 am (EST)
