Ian Anderson struck out nine over seven shutout innings in a 2-1 win over the Nationals on Saturday.
Anderson struggled with command early, walking three of the first six batters he faced, but the Nats didn't capitalize and the young right-hander didn't give them any more openings the rest of the way. On the night he allowed only a fourth inning single to Asdrubal Cabrera while punching out nine, and through four MLB starts he's now got a 1.64 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 27/10 K/BB ratio. Opposing teams are still looking to deal the 22-year-old his first MLB defeat, with the Mets waiting for him on Friday. Sep 12 9:50 pm (EST)
