MLB Weather Today, 10/16

Tampa Bay Rays vs Cleveland Guardians - It's raining a LOT all day long. I'm not sure if there's going to be a delay here or if the game ends up being postponed altogether. If they do play, it's COLD and wind is blowing in. Going to be very hard for offense to get going.

Rays vs Guardians: Pitching Matchup

Nick Martinez, Tampa Bay Rays

With the Rays down 2-1, there's a likelihood that Martinez is not long for this game. I mean, he wasn't long for his first playoff start against the Yankees and they were up 2-0. Martinez doesn't miss bats and isn't long for this game, so I have essentially no interest in using him.

DraftKings CPT: $16,500 | DraftKings UTIL: $11,000

Shawn Armstrong, Cleveland Guardians

The Guardians are going with an opener today and that opener is Shawn Armstrong. Armstrong has thrown upwards of 1.2 IP this postseason but hasn't gone longer than 20 pitches. Armstrong has to be perfect while he's on the mound to have value.

Rays vs Guardians Preview: Key Players to Watch

Jose Ramirez, 3B (Guardians)

It's been an elite postseason for Jose Ramirez who's riding a six-game hitting streak and has four multi-hit games over that span. He's hit two homers and stolen three bags over that span too. Ramirez is in tip-top form right now and is hard to ignore.

DraftKings CPT: $14,400 | DraftKings UTIL: $9,600 | FanDuel MVP: $18,300 | FanDuel UTIL: $12,200

Junior Caminero, 3B (Rays)

So like..when does Junior Caminero homer? He hasn't homered this entire postseason and really hasn't done much at all to justify the price. Now, he hit 42 bombs during the regular season, so he's always one swing away from hitting a nuke into the heart of Cleveland.

DraftKings CPT: $15,000 | DraftKings UTIL: $10,000 | FanDuel MVP: $17,700 | FanDuel UTIL: $11,800

Jonathan Aranda, 1B (Rays)

The Guardians are sending Shawn Armstrong to the mound to start the game and we'll see what happens after that, but Aranda hits righties well and Armstrong allowed a .205 xISO to LHH this year. A

DraftKings CPT: $12,300 | DraftKings UTIL: $8,200 | FanDuel MVP: $14,100 | FanDuel UTIL: $9,400

Chase DeLauter, OF (Guardians)

DeLauter hits righties well as he posted a .450 SLG%, .808 ISO, .181 ISO, and .354 wOBA this year. DeLauter has only had one game since the first game of the White Sox series in which he hasn't had a hit. DeLauter can hit lefties well too once the Rays inevitably going to a lefty here.

DraftKings CPT: $12,600 | DraftKings UTIL: $8,400 | FanDuel MVP: $15,300 | FanDuel UTIL: $10,200

Yandy Diaz, 1B/3B (Rays)

Diaz is a great hitter and will be facing a bullpen game here. Diaz is actually better against right-handed pitching hitting .305 with an .815 OPS, .356 wOBA, and 129 wRC+.

DraftKings CPT: $13,200 | DraftKings UTIL: $8,800 | FanDuel MVP: $15,900 | FanDuel UTIL: $10,600

Victor Mesa, OF (Rays)

Mesa had a better average against lefties this year but all of his power has come against righties. He has a .503 SLG%, .269 ISO, and .811 OPS against right-handed hurlers and never comes off the field against lefties. I love Mesa Jr. here.

DraftKings CPT: $10,200 | DraftKings UTIL: $6,800 | FanDuel MVP: $11,400 | FanDuel UTIL: $7,600

Liam Hicks, C (Rays)

The tale of two players within one player; Liam Hicks. Hicks hit .192 against lefties this year but he hit .309 with 17 HR vs. RHP. He had a .504 OPS, .237 wOBA, and 45 wRC+ against southpaws while posting an .883 OPS, .181 ISO, and 144 wRC+ vs. RHP.

DraftKings CPT: $11,400 | DraftKings UTIL: $7,600 | FanDuel MVP: $9,000 | FanDuel UTIL: $6,000

Steven Kwan, OF (Guardians)

Kwan was really good against righties this year and if he's on base in front of Ramirez and DeLauter right now, he's in a great spot to score runs. Kwan hit .306 with a robust .397 OBP against righties on the year.

DraftKings CPT: $10,800 | DraftKings UTIL: $7,200 | FanDuel MVP: $10,800 | FanDuel UTIL: $7,200
