Sunday’s WNBA DFS slate is pretty rare. Aside from perhaps the last game of the season, I cannot remember all 12 teams ever playing on the same random day in June. In another example of something I can’t ever remember happening, FanDuel and DraftKings are offering different games in their main slates. DraftKings’ main slate features all six games, beginning at 1:00 pm ET and ending with the late game at 7:00 pm ET. FanDuel has a slate with all six games but their main slate features just the four games in the middle, ranging from 3:00 pm ET to 5:00 pm ET. For our purposes, the Playbook and core plays will potentially include all six games. If you want to play a smaller slate on either site you can, and you should adjust accordingly, but we considered all six games for the purposes of this playbook. | WNBA DFS Guards | ||||||
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Haley Jones | ATL | CON | 5400 | 14 | ### | 14.08 |
| Jones has quietly averaged 0.90 fantasy points per minute, ranking 15th among guards who have played at least 20 minutes this season. Atlanta tried to go big against the Liberty but Jones started the second half and finished with 23 fantasy points in 28 minutes. Jones is definitely in play with Aari McDonald out, though I would feel better about Jones if she starts Sunday. | ||||||
| Jordin Canada | LA | MIN | 8300 | 27.88 | ### | 28.35 |
| Only three teams have allowed more steals than Minnesota, and Canada leads the league in steals per game. Minnesota has also allowed the most fantasy points to guards, due to a lack of rim protection and poor defense at the point of attack. Canada matched her season-high with 16 points Friday and if Layshia Clarendon is out, Canada's usage should be quite high once again. | ||||||
| Sabrina Ionescu | NY | DAL | 9300 | 32.93 | ### | 31.26 |
| Ionescu scored a career-high 37 points Friday, and she is $600 cheaper Sunday on Draftkings. I expect her ownership to be through the roof but with Dallas allowing the second-most fantasy points to guards, I don't know how we can fade her. It certainly looks like Ionescu has put the hamstring tightness that bothered her last week behind her, which makes this play even more appealing. | ||||||
| Sug Sutton | PHO | IND | 6700 | 24.5 | ### | 24.02 |
| It is crazy that Sutton is still cheaper than Sophie Cunningham. Sutton has played at least 29 minutes and scored at least 20.75 fantasy points in five straight games. I'll gladly lock in that production and pay up elsewhere. | ||||||
| Kelsey Mitchell | IND | PHO | 8200 | 26.11 | ### | 24.73 |
| I wish Mitchell did more for this team than just score, but there isn't anyone on Indiana who can stop her from scoring. She isn't my favorite guard on either slate but if you need a second guard, or need to save some cash, you know exactly what you are getting from Mitchell. | ||||||
| WNBA DFS Forwards | ||||||
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Napheesa Collier | MIN | LA | #### | 36.72 | ### | 36.38 |
| I've been saying all season that Collier is better at the three, and with Diamond Miller out, Collier has averaged 42.08 fppg. Collier is too cheap, especially on FanDuel. | ||||||
| A'ja Wilson | LV | CHI | #### | 41.88 | ### | 44.16 |
| Speaking of being too cheap, Wilson's DraftKings price seems like an overreaction to a quiet game against Connecticut Thursday. The Aces are at home with the rest advantage but more importantly, Chicago has allowed the ninth-most fantasy points to forwards this season. | ||||||
| Brionna Jones | CON | ATL | 9500 | 33.47 | ### | 34.29 |
| The only thing that has held Jones back this season is foul trouble. She has stayed out of foul trouble the last three games and averaged 38.58 fantasy points in 35.7 minutes. If she matches that Sunday, she is a nice value. It doesn't hurt that Jones is second in the league in steals and Atlanta has allowed the most steals this season. | ||||||
| Dearica Hamby | LA | MIN | 6800 | 18.82 | ### | 19.43 |
| Hamby started the season extremely slowly, but her 37.5 fantasy points in 30 minutes Friday is more in line with how she has produced much of her career. She should start again with Chiney Ogwumike out, though Azura Stevens could see more playing time if she ever makes a shot. Hamby may be the riskiest call in this playbook but her opportunity and upside are undeniable. | ||||||
| NaLyssa Smith | IND | PHO | 8800 | 29.54 | ### | 27.04 |
| There is a pretty big drop off at forward when we get cheaper than Smith. That is certainly true on DraftKings, though I like her price even better on FanDuel. It was nice to see her get 32 minutes at Minnesota, and I'll like her even better if Michaela Onyenwere starts against for Phoenix. | ||||||
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Elizabeth Williams | CHI | LV | 7700 | 24.03 | ### | 26.19 |
| Williams is averaging 27.9 fppg in her last four games, and nobody in her price range can match that production over that span. The matchup scares me, but Williams is the cheapest forward I feel like I can trust. | ||||||
| Dorka Juhasz | MIN | LA | 6300 | 12 | ### | 12.69 |
| Juhasz finally lost some playing time to Nikolina Milic Friday, but I've watched the Lynx long enough not to expect that to continue. Juhasz has averaged 20.83 fppg since joining the starting lineup and she should be safe for as long as Diamond Miller is out. | ||||||
| Nikolina Milic | MIN | LA | 3400 | 5.61 | ### | 5.34 |
| On the one hand, I think you're probably better off just not using any punt plays on DraftKings. That being said, this season has demonstrated the power of punt plays even when they don't produce much themselves. Milic played 15 minutes Friday and if she can get back to last season's form, when she averaged 0.90 fppm, she could be quite valuable. | ||||||
