The WNBA has severely cut down on back-to-backs this season, which is why it is strange that two of the six teams in Thursday’s WNBA DFS slate had to get on a plane after playing on Wednesday. The Chicago Sky, at least, had the benefit of playing an afternoon game yesterday before heading to Indiana. The New York Liberty, though, were not so fortunate and may not have the luxury of resting their veterans. The Sky would be dumb not to rest some starters as they have the best record in the league and have three starters over 33 years old. Nobody would be surprised if they beat Indiana even while resting most of their starters, so pay attention to WNBA starting lineups before tonight's game. Whether the Liberty and Sky rest some players or not, this should be a very good spot for the Indiana Fever and Phoenix Mercury players. Neither team is super deep with fantasy options but I will try to fit at least a few of them into my WNBA DFS lineups. Now let's take a look at the WNBA daily fantasy top plays on DraftKings and FanDuel for Thursday, July 7th.

WNBA DFS Top Guards

Victoria ViviansINDCHI680022530021.32
I want to take advantage of Chicago playing on a back-to-back, but there don't appear to be many great targets. Vivians has at least 21 fantasy points in three straight games and six of her last eight.
Sophie CunninghamPHONY710018.95510018.21
I still can't believe playing Cunningham at the four is working, but here we are. Cunningham has been great since returning from an elbow injury, scoring at least 23 fantasy points in five consecutive games.
Diana TaurasiPHONY880027.35650025.70
Taurasi is averaging 35.2 FPPG at home and 22.3 FPPG on the road. Taurasi has scored at least 26.5 fantasy points in all nine home games this season, and she should benefit from the rest advantage more than anyone.
Jordin CanadaLASEA650021.22560021.02
Canada has played at least 33 minutes and scored at least 22.5 fantasy points in two straight games despite shooting 24 percent from the field combined. I don't expect her to shoot much better but its nice to know she has a high floor. She scored 20.3 fantasy points in 28.4 minutes in her only meeting against her former team this season.
Kahleah CopperCHIIND720024.58600022.88
Copper is averaging 30.1 fantasy points in two games against Indiana. She is much younger than Allie Quigley, Courtney Vandersloot and Candace Parker, and I think Copper is the best bet to step up on the second night of a back-to-back.
Skylar Diggins-SmithPHONY1060036.38850036.62
Diggins-Smith has at least 35.25 fantasy points in nine of her last 11 games. She is averaging 37.7 fppg at home this season, and I can definitely envision playing Diggins-Smith and Taurasi together in a lineup, if I can afford them.

WNBA DFS Top Forwards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
NaLyssa SmithINDCHI830025.97580024.26
Chicago is ninth in fantasy points allowed to forwards and they just played in Minnesota yesterday. Smith has struggled a bit of late but she still has at least nine field goal attempts in four straight games. Smith had 42.25 fantasy points against Chicago last month and she will win a lot of contests if she repeats that Thursday.
Reshanda GrayPHONY47006.735006.43
Gray has never gotten consistent playing time at any of her WNBA stops but Phoenix may not have much choice after they let Tina Charles go. Gray has played at least 13 minutes and scored at least 15 fantasy points in two of her last three games. This should be a good matchup at home against the Liberty.
Liz CambageLASEA930029.13700029.72
The only real question with Cambage is minutes, and she has played at least 27 in three straight games. With three rotation players out, I don't see how the Sparks sit her much during the competitive portion of the game. She is averaging 29 fantasy points in 23.3 mpg against Seattle this season.
Gabby WilliamsSEALA730020.34550021.15
Williams has averaged 25.5 FPPG in the four games Sue Bird has missed this season. She has at least 20 fantasy points in three straight games, and it looks like her floor is pretty high for her price.
Ruthy HebardCHIIND35007.1333007.15
Indiana is last in fantasy points allowed to forwards, and it could get even worse if Queen Egbo is out. Hebard has a chance to play heavy minutes in a blowout and she would be a must-play if Candace Parker gets the day off. The last time Parker sat, Hebard had 18.0 fantasy points in 20 minutes.
Breanna StewartSEALA1140040.92880041.99
Stewart is shooting a dreadful 34.7 percent since Tina Charles joined the team, but there is no reason to believe that will last, and everything else points to her having a huge game Thursday. Stewart has at least 45.5 fantasy points in all four games Sue Bird has missed this season, averaging 50.7 fantasy points in those games. She has averaged 46.3 fantasy points in two games against Los Angeles. She looks like the best spend-up target by far Thursday.
Nneka OgwumikeLASEA1020034.74820035.21
This isn't a great matchup, but it is hard to argue against someone who has at least 33 fantasy points in five consecutive games. With the Sparks' injury issues, we know Ogwumike's minutes and usage will be quite high.
