WNBA DFS Playbook August 4: Top DraftKings & FanDuel WNBA DFS Picks
Friday’s WNBA DFS slate has more relevant players who are listed as questionable than I can remember in quite some time. The good news, as far as that goes, is that we have two games at 7:00 pm EST and two at 8:00 pm EST, so we won’t have to keep checking for news all night before each game starts. That being said, I would be sure to put at least a couple of late-game players in your WNBA daily fantasy lineups so that you are able to pivot once we do get word about Naphessa Collier, Crystal Dangerfield, etc. As for the top players in action tonight, Sabrina Ionescu headlines the top WNBA daily picks for the New York Liberty. Let's now dive into the top WNBA DFS picks and plays for Friday night, August 4th on DraftKings and FanDuel.
WNBA DFS Picks August 4
| Guards | ||||||
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Sabrina Ionescu | NY | MIN | 10900 | 35.74 | 7800 | 33.33 |
| Ionescu's best game of the season came last week against Minnesota, who has allowed the most fantasy points to guards this season. I like her on both sites but she is underpriced on FanDuel. | ||||||
| Odyssey Sims | DAL | CHI | 3000 | 10.23 | 3700 | 10.11 |
| Sims was the first guard off the bench, Wednesday, so she should move into the starting lineup if Crystal Dangerfield's rib injury keeps her out. Sims would be a strong punt play if Dangerfield sits, though I would pivot to Veronica Burton if Burton starts instead. | ||||||
| Jordin Canada | LA | WAS | 9800 | 29.51 | 6900 | 29.27 |
| Washington has been tough for opposing guards but they are a lot less scary now that three of their starters are out of the lineup. Canada's usage has been through the roof in the last four games with Lexie Brown out, as Canada has averaged 35.1 minutes, 15.5 FGA and 35.9 fantasy points in that span. | ||||||
| Kayla McBride | MIN | NY | 7500 | 22.96 | 6400 | 22.54 |
| McBride has played at least 33 minutes in all three games Napheesa Collier has missed, averaging 31.4 fantasy points in that span. I might pivot to Diamond Miller on FanDuel, but both should be playable in this matchup, especially if Dorka Juhasz is out for this game. | ||||||
| Marina Mabrey | CHI | DAL | 7700 | 27.06 | 6600 | 25.78 |
| It's hard to believe Mabrey topped 40 fantasy points her last time out and her DraftKings price went down $400. Mabrey hasn't been super consistent since the All-Star Break but she does have at least 26.25 fantasy points in three of her last four games, and she scored 43.3 fantasy points in her only game against her former team. | ||||||
| Shatori Walker-Kimbrough | WAS | LA | 6400 | 13.18 | 5300 | 13.36 |
| Walker-Kimbrough has at least 20 fantasy points in three of her last five games, and only Minnesota has allowed more fantasy points to guards than Los Angeles this season. Walker Kimbrough is my favorite value guard if Crystal Dangerfield is able to go. | ||||||
| Forwards | ||||||
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Emma Cannon | IND | CON | 6300 | 11.22 | 5200 | 10.34 |
| It was nice to see Cannon finally get extended playing time with Victoria Vivians out. Vivians is questionable Friday and Cannon will be a strong mid-priced play on both sites if she starts again. Cannon is averaging 0.99 fppm this season, good for 13th among forwards. | ||||||
| Myisha Hines-Allen | WAS | LA | 6200 | 13.1 | 5400 | 12.93 |
| She has plateaued at 20-23 minutes the last three games, topping 20 fantasy points in two of those. That obviously limits her ceiling, but depending on how a couple of injuries break, Hines-Allen has a chance to be the best value in her price range. | ||||||
| Nikolina Milic | MIN | NY | 5300 | 11.46 | 4200 | 10.93 |
| I have been a sucker for Milic all season, though it is difficult to argue with how Dorka Juhasz has performed since joining the starting lineup. Juhasz is questionable with a hamstring injury, and Milic should be good for 20+ minutes even if she comes off the bench. I'm probably playing whoever replaces Juhasz in the starting lineup but Milic looks like the safest option. | ||||||
| Satou Sabally | DAL | CHI | 10800 | 38.99 | 8300 | 37.26 |
| Sabally has quietly been really good for the last couple of weeks, scoring at least 36 fantasy points in seven consecutive games. She had 36 fantasy points in 28 minutes in her only game against Chicago, and she is also averaging 6.9 more fantasy points at home than on the road. | ||||||
| Olivia Nelson-Ododa | CON | IND | 4200 | 10.62 | 5100 | 11.53 |
| I really wish she would get a chance to start, but anyone who costs $900 less on DraftKings needs to be on our radar. She has at least 15.25 DK fantasy points in four straight games, and she is the best value forward on the DK slate. | ||||||
| Breanna Stewart | NY | MIN | 12100 | 46.8 | 9500 | 46.66 |
| I wouldn't argue against any of the top four forwards but Minnesota is 10th in fantasy points allowed to forwards and Stewart has at least 41.4 fantasy points in four straight games, including against the Lynx last week. | ||||||
