I don’t believe it is hyperbole to state Thursday’s WNBA DFS Slate hinges on one injury to one star player. Satou Sabally is in danger of missing Thursday’s home game against the Lynx after she suffered an ankle injury against the Lynx on Tuesday. Dallas’s big three has started every game this season, which is a big part of why they are fourth in the standings. If she is able to stay in the starting lineup, we are going to have an awfully hard time finding value plays. On top of that, the mid-tier forwards are in pretty rough shape as well. Add in the fact that the three teams who have allowed the fewest points to opponents are all in action, and Thursday’s slate could be one of the lowest-scoring we have seen in some time.

Veronica BurtonDALMIN35009.79370010.28
Burton has averaged just 15.6 fantasy points in 11 starts this season, but that is plenty at her price. If Satou Sabally is out, whoever starts in her place would be a strong DFS play, though it is worth noting Burton has been better per-minute than Odyssey Sims this season, and nearly identical to Crystal Dangerfield.
Erica WheelerINDSEA780022.95650022.28
Wheeler has scored at least 24.75 fantasy points in six of her last seven games. No team has allowed more fantasy points to guards than Seattle this season, and Wheeler looks like the most solid guard in her price range by far.
Chelsea GrayLVCHI1010034.51780033.80
As always you can pivot to one of her teammates if you need to, but Gray has separated herself from the other Aces guards of late. Gray has averaged 39.5 fantasy points over the last 10 days and she has averaged 40.9 fantasy points in two games against the Sky.
Dana EvansCHILV480016.12490015.55
Evans has averaged 25.5 fantasy points on 20.6 minutes in her last three games. This isn't a good matchup, and she hasn't topped 25 minutes in a game since June, but she's worth a shot at her price, especially if Veronica Burton doesn't start
Courtney WilliamsCHILV890028.49620027.47
Williams has averaged 28.5 fantasy points against the Aces, and she has at least 22 fantasy points in 10 of her last 11 games. I don't know why she is so cheap on FanDuel.

Tiffany MitchellMINDAL550013.8460013.05
Mitchell was not good on Tuesday but I think she will bounce back in the rematch. Mitchell has scored at least 20 fantasy points in two of her three starts since Lindsay Allen went down and I like those odds at her price.

Natasha HowardDALMIN1040035.2740034.81
Even after an underwhelming performance Tuesday, Howard is still averaging 42.0 fantasy points in three games against Minnesota. I think she'll probably bounce back either way, but she could get more minutes and shots if Satou Sabally is out or limited by her ankle injury.
Dulcy Fankam MendjiadeuSEAIND640012.04480011.97
Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu has played at least 27 minutes in each of her last two games, averaging 23.75 fantasy points. She will probably return to playing 15ish minutes sooner than later, but considering her price hasn't increased much, I'm willing to take that chance in tournament lineups.
Maddy SiegristDALMIN4300740007.18
If Satou Sabally is out, I still think our best course of action is playing whoever replaces her in the starting lineup. That being said, every time Sabally was subbed out on Tuesday, she was replaced by Siegrist. Even if Dallas starts three guards, Siegrist should see increased minutes. She is averaging 0.82 fppm this season and even off the bench she could be the best value forward on the slate.
Alanna SmithCHILV830026.57690027.77
This is an indictment of the forwards in her price range more than anything else. Smith has played at least 29 minutes and scored at least 27 fantasy points in five straight games. That streak might end against the Aces but someone has to pull down the rebounds for the Sky and it will most likely be Smith.
A'ja WilsonLVCHI1190043.35960045.50
I might pivot to Breanna Stewart on FanDuel if I need to save $200. I don't usually advocate playing someone coming off the best game of their career for DFS, but I think Wilson's dominance has been muted somewhat by facing the New York Liberty three times this month. Wilson has scored at least 40 fantasy points in 11 straight games against non-Liberty opponents. The other top-tier forwards have tougher matchups, and Wilson has averaged 43.3 fantasy points in two games against the Sky this season.
