NFL DFS Week 8 RB Coach: Bijan Robinson, Josh Jacobs, Derrick Henry
Welcome to the NFL DFS Week 8 RB Coach article!! Other than Kimani Vidal and Jacory Croskey-Merritt, just about every other NFL DFS RB that I recommended for Week 7 delivered as promised. I admit that in my previous article, I may have been overly cautious in suggesting that you avoid using previously underperforming NFL DFS RBs like Rhamondre Stevenson and Jaylen Warren. But on a positive note, since they showed some signs of life in Week 7, Stevenson and Warren could be useful as NFL DFS RBs in the coming weeks.
NFL DFS Week 8 RB Coach for FanDuel & DraftKings Fantasy
Some refer to Week 8 as bye-mageddon, since six teams are on a bye – including the Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams, and Seattle Seahawks. Don’t worry, there are plenty of valuable NFL DFS RBs that you can use in your DFS lineups in Week 8.
Although there are six teams on a bye, I was able to find several NFL DFS RBs that should be able to help you put some cash in your pocket this week! Below are my favorite NFL DFS RBs for Week 8. First, let's take a wider look at the running back position this week and other notable RBs that I'm avoiding this week.
NFL Week 8 Running Backs
I am worried about, and still not comfortable, starting Carolina Panthers NFL DFS RBs. Rico Dowdle and Chuba Hubbard split work out of the backfield pretty evenly in Week 7. Hubbard played 38 snaps and carried the ball 14 times. Dowdle played 33 snaps and carried the ball 17 times.
Even though New England Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson is back in my good graces and affordable (DK $5,500/FD $6,000), he’s playing the Cleveland Browns in Week 8, and they have been very tough on NFL DFS RBs. The Browns have given up the fewest PPR fantasy points per game to NFL DFS RBs this season.
Those same Browns play the New England Patriots in Week 8, and the Pats have given up the sixth-fewest PPR fantasy points per game to NFL DFS RBs this season. I’ll watch Browns RB Quinshon Judkins from my couch this weekend.
You have my blessing if you want to start New York Giants RB Cam Skattebo, but he won’t be in any of my DFS lineups. On paper, he has a pretty good matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 8. Back in Week 6, Skattebo rushed for 98 yards (5.2 YPC) and scored three TDs against the Super Bowl champs. However, I have a feeling the Eagles defense will be in lock-down mode and looking to keep the Giants offense in check after “Big Blue” gave them a beatdown in Week 6.
NFL DFS RB Top Tier Picks For Week 8
Jonathan Taylor, RB, Indianapolis Colts
DraftKings: $9,500 | FanDuel: $10,200
Taylor is coming off a three-TD Week 7 performance and is simply the best NFL DFS RB right now. He leads all RBs with 697 rushing yards, and if you can afford to put him in your DFS lineup, just do it. He is matchup proof!
Bijan Robinson, RB, Atlanta Falcons
DraftKings: $8,800 | FanDuel: $10,000
If you can’t squeeze Taylor into your NFL DFS lineups, Robinson is another matchup-proof RB that will help you win some cash this week. It’s not really a fair matchup because Robinson is one of the best NFL DFS RBs, and his opponent, the Miami Dolphins, has given up the most rushing yards to the position (898, 5.19 YPC). The San Francisco 49ers held Robinson to 2.9 YPC in Week 7, but he had six catches for 52 yards and a receiving TD. If he’s having a bad day running the ball, Robinson usually makes up for it with his pass-catching ability.
NFL DFS RB Mid-Tier Picks For Week 8
Josh Jacobs, RB, Green Bay Packers
DraftKings: $7,500 | FanDuel: $ 9,300
When deciding on whether to include Jacobs in your DFS lineups, simply follow the trends. Jacobs is only averaging 3.7 YPC on the season, but over the last two weeks, that average has trended upward to 4.8 YPC. Jacobs takes on the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are giving up 4.5 YPC to NFL DFS RBs on the season. However, in their last two games, the Steelers are giving up 5.82 YPC to NFL DFS RBs. Jacobs was battling an illness and a calf injury last week but still managed to score two TDs. That gives him eight on the season, second only to Jonathan Taylor.
De’Von Achane, RB, Miami Dolphins
DraftKings: $7,300 | FanDuel: $ 7,900
The Dolphins are one of the worst teams in football this season, but Achane has still been a reliable NFL DFS RB. He takes on the Atlanta Falcons in Week 8, and they’ve given up 5.35 YPC to NFL DFS RBs over their last three games. Achane is averaging 7.2 YPC in his last two games and has scored six TDs (three on the ground and three through the air) in his first seven games. Achane already has 32 receptions (4.6 per game) this season, and with Jayden Waddle’s Week 8 status up in the air and Darren Waller on the IR, his involvement in the Dolphins’ passing game could actually increase this week.
NFL Week 8 DFS RB Value Picks
Derrick Henry, RB, Baltimore Ravens
DraftKings: $6,000 | FanDuel: $ 8,000
It’s kind of surprising to include Henry in the Value-Tier section of this article, but his NFL DFS salary seems like a real gift. Henry’s average rushing yards per game (73.2) is way off his career average and last season’s 113 average as well, but I’m not ready to give up on him yet. Henry is coming off a Week 6, 122 rushing yard performance, and he’s still averaging 5.0 YPC this season. I’m sure that he’s refreshed after a bye week and looking forward to taking on the New Orleans Saints, who have given up the fourth most rushing yards to NFL DFS RBs (728) this season.
J.K. Dobbins, RB, Denver Broncos
DraftKings: $5,800 | FanDuel: $ 7,000
Dobbins takes on the Dallas Cowboys, who are giving up 4.61 YPC to NFL DFS RBs this season. They’re also giving up the second most receptions (38) and receiving yards (377) to the position. Dobbins is averaging 5.0 YPC, and he is coming off a Week 7 performance that saw him rush for 5.8 YPC.
Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints
DraftKings: $5,700 | FanDuel: $ 6,600
Kamara is having a subpar season. He’s been dealing with a nagging ankle injury, and his average YPC and average receptions per game are down this season. Kendre Miller had been eating into his playing time, but now that Miller (torn ACL) is out for the season, the Saints will have to lean on Kamara a bit more in Week 8. Kamara faces the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are coming off a short week. They’ve given up the third most receptions (37) and the most receiving yards (431) to NFL DFS RBs this season. Kamara is still effective at catching the ball (86.2% catch rate) and should be able to take advantage of the Bucs’ inability to defend against pass-catching NFL DFS RBs.
NFL DFS Week 8 RB Play of the Week
D’Andre Swift, RB, Chicago Bears
DraftKings: $5,900 | FanDuel: $ 6,800
Swift has been on a roll, averaging 7.0 YPC over the past two weeks, and overall, he’s averaging 4.7 YPC for the season. The Bears’ offensive line has been gelling and is partially responsible for Swift’s resurgent 2025 season. He takes on the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8, and they are giving up 4.73 YPC to NFL DFS RBs.
