Week 9 of the NFL DFS season is here and with it comes one of the biggest weeks of byes in the NFL with six teams off. Week 8 was a successful one if  you read the QB coach as we had Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa as our top plays, Marcus Mariota in our value section and Derek Carr as our QB fade. Let's dive into the Week 9 slate and bring you the top plays, values and fades at the quarterback position this week.

NFL DFS QB Top Plays

Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

Keep it simple. Pretty good process to have here.  Sure, the Jets defense has been improved this season and sure Josh Allen isn't coming off his best performance but I'm willing to bank on the week-to-week upside we've seen from Allen this year and nobody on this slate has consistently reached their ceiling as often as Allen has this year. He is expensive and so is Stefon Diggs but the two have enough punch to help you take down a GPP tournament.

Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals

We saw this matchup once already and Murray finished with 19.88 fantasy points thanks to his rushing ability as he ran for 100 yards while only throwing for 222. Having DeAndre Hopkins back is a game changer for this Cardinals offense and last week we saw Murray complete 70.5% of his passes for 326 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions for 29.64 fantasy points. The Cardinals defense has been a bit suspect this season and while Geno Smith and the Seattle offense has started to come back to earth a bit, this game still has the potential to bring out the upside of Murray.

Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins

Really great price tag over on DraftKings this week at $6,700 in this matchup against a Bears defense that has traded away its top two defensive players over the past few days. Coming off a game where he threw for 382 yards and three scores against a bad Lions team, the Dolphins offense is one of the best in football as long as Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are healthy and those two receivers alone are enough to put Tua in your lineups each week.

NFL DFS QB Mid Tier Plays

Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals

Who doesn't love a bounce back? After the Bengals were embarrassed on Monday against the Browns they return home to take their frustration's out on the Carolina Panthers who have shown some new life in recent weeks with PJ Walker at quarterback. Sure, Ja'Marr Chase is unlikely to play here once again but the Bengals offense with Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd leading the way is more than capable of putting up big numbers and allowing for Burrow to reach his ceiling.

Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings

I'm a sucker for a good revenge game narrative and here we have Cousins heading into Washington to face his former team. We've seen Cousins go for 20+ fantasy points in two of the last three games and this Commanders secondary has been toast for most of the season. After a relatively quiet day in Week 8 I am expecting big things from the Cousins-to-Jefferson connection.

NFL DFS QB Value Plays

Justin Fields, Chicago Bears

He is honestly starting to look better and play with some more confidence. His rushing upside has helped stabilize his fantasy production while his passing numbers are starting to improve a bit. Sure, his passing yardage isn't anything to write home about but over the past four games he has a 65% completion percentage with five touchdowns and just two interceptions. The Dolphins defense is good but they've been giving up points to opposing QB's this season and Fields mobility is something that will give most defenses fits.

Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars

He made the cover this week so you know I'm liking this spot for Lawrence. The Raiders defense was lit up by the Saints last week and more importantly they were done in by Alvin Kamara's ability to catch the football. The Raiders are allowing the second most fantasy points to QB's but they have also allowed the most receptions to opposing running backs this season. Oh yeah, they also struggle against opposing tight ends as well. I know Lawrence did not look great in the London game against Denver but he is back home and I am loving this spot where you can actually stack Lawrence with Travis Etienne and dare I even say Evan Engram?

NFL DFS QB Fades

Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers

Can you tell me who he is going to be throwing the football to in this game? Honestly? Mike Williams is already ruled out. Keenan Allen did not practice and missed the second-half of the team's Week 8 game because his hamstring still was not 100%. Joshua Palmer also missed the Week 8 game. I know many will love this matchup against the Falcons but my concern is just that they go heavy with Austin Ekeler here if the Chargers aren't able to field a receiving squad that doesn't have Gerald Everett and DeAndre Carter as the leading options.
