As the old saying goes, “Good teams win, great teams cover.” We are back for the Divisional Round with our picks against the spread! With how last week's Wild Card Round games looked, and how the spreads are set, we could be looking at going four for four in terms of one-score games! Fingers crossed that this slate can live up to the absolute cinema that the NFL provided last week!

Below, we will be breaking down our NFL Divisional Round Picks Against The Spread while also going through the NFL Divisional Round schedule. So without further ado, let's dive in!

NFL Divisional Round Picks Against The Spread + NFL Divisional Round Schedule Predictions

For the NFL Divisional Round Schedule, we have the remaining 8 teams playing in 4 games. Each week of the NFL playoffs, we will have fewer and fewer teams in the running for the coveted Lombardi Trophy, so time to lock in! In the following section, you will find my predictions, with my NFL Divisional Round Picks Against The Spread highlighted in bold. All lines are courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook:

  • Buffalo Bills +1.5 (-124) vs. Denver Broncos -1.5 (-107)
  • San Francisco 49ers +7.5 (-124) vs. Seattle Seahawks -7.5 (-107)
  • Houston Texans +3 (-102) vs. New England Patriots -3 (-118)
  • Los Angeles Rams -4.5 (-107) vs. Chicago Bears +4.5 -124

NFL Divisional Round Picks Against The Spread: San Francisco 49ers +7.5 (-124 at DraftKings Sportsbook)

Mind you, I think I would lean Seahawks moneyline due to the first-round bye, dominant defense, health of their team, and homefield advantage, but +7.5 is way too big a spread to not jump on. Kyle Shanahan, in my opinion, is the coach of the year with what he has done to overcome so many injuries and end up here in a rematch of Week 18. His quarterback, Brock Purdy, is entering a stadium where he is a flawless 4-0. Even with so many injuries, the offense has been explosive, and the defense has been tough, just taking down last year's Super Bowl champions.

One overlooked note is that the 49ers will have future Hall of Famer Trent Williams in the lineup this time around. Williams was not in the lineup when the 49ers last fell to the Seahawks 13-3. This was a game dominated by the Seahawks' defense and ball control. With Williams back, I think Purdy will do enough to get some points on the board, plus it looked like defensive coordinator Robert Saleh figured out how to slow down the run enough to force the ball into the quarterback's hands, like what he did in the second half against Philadelphia. In my eyes, the game script looks like it will be a lot different from what it was in Week 18, and personally, as much as I love Macdonald as a head coach, I trust Purdy and Shanahan more than I trust him and Darnold. I think Shanahan will have enough tricks up his sleeve for the 49ers to cover in this game, despite all of their shortcomings and injuries.

NFL Divisional Round Picks Against The Spread: Chicago Bears +4.5 (-124 at DraftKings Sportsbook)

Who would have thought that the Chicago Bears would provide one of the more thrilling NFL Playoff comebacks of all time against the rival Green Bay Packers? Now, with some excitement and momentum on their side, they are welcoming Matthew Stafford and the Rams to Soldier Field.

While I believe the Chicago Bears are the inferior team here on paper, there is a lot playing in their favor in this one. First off, it is shaping up to be one of the coldest NFL Playoff games in history, just piling onto their home-field advantage. It is worth noting that dome teams are 1-14 in the last decade when going on the road in weather under 40 degrees as of last week. The Los Angeles Rams have been much better at home than they have been away, finishing the regular season at 5-4 in away games. They are also coached by Sean McVay, who has yet to secure a win at Soldier Field. Finally, the Rams' defense has fallen off a cliff since the beginning of the season, going from the top 10 in explosive plays allowed to allowing the second most in the entire league. Going up against a team that has been at the top of the league in explosive plays all season could be tough for this Rams defense.

The Chicago Bears have not played in a game decided by more than one score in over a month, when they dominated the Cleveland Browns. With the Bears showing that they can come back from just about any deficit, no matter how far the Rams might get out in front, I expect the Bears to be able to keep things close once it is all said and done.
