Jets vs. Titans Predictions, Picks & Odds: NFL Week 1, 9/13
Look, things have not been perfect for these two franchises. Far from it. But they both have their own reasons to be hopeful. That’s the beautiful thing about a down year in the NFL - you end up with a good spot in the NFL Draft. Both these teams have been in positions to make some interesting picks, especially on offense.
The Tennessee Titans selected wide receiver Carnell Tate to help second year quarterback Cam Ward potentially take a step forward. They signed Wan’Dale Robinson to follow his former head coach and now offensive coordinator Brian Daboll for good measure. The Jets took not one, but two pass-catchers in tight end Kenyon Sadiq and wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. in the first round. They’ll join Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall as the weapons for Geno Smith in his reunion with New York.
🏅 Jets vs. Titans Expert Pick: Wan’Dale Robinson Over 4.5 Receptions (-101 on DraftKings)
The hot new players are often the story with these teams, as we led in with the intro. But there is something to be said for the reliable veterans as well. And that’s exactly what Brian Daboll brought Wan’Dale Robinson in to be. And that’s exactly what this guy has been in the NFL over the last two years, a reliable target hog. Here are the leaders in receptions over the last two years combined, per Pro Football Reference:
For those that play fantaay football, those are literally the top seven wide receivers drafted - and Wan’Dale Robinson. Fantasy football folks calls Wan’Dale Robinson a “PPR scam” because of his low aDOT routes, but when it comes to just betting the over on reception totals, we really don’t care about yards or touchdowns. The Jets' secondary is simply not what it once was and I think the check down option for Cam Ward is set to get peppered this week.

🏉 Jets vs. Titans Injury Report & Latest News
The biggest Jets vs. Titans news heading into Week 1 is the return of Geno Smith to New York. After an underwhelming 2025 stint with Las Vegas, Smith is back with the original franchise that drafted him. There were some worries about Breece Hall coming off a groin issue but he told reporters that he’d be ready and willing to play as much as they need him. The concern for New York come from Joseph Ossai (foot) and Tim Patrick (groin) who sat out practice Wednesday and will need to be monitored as the week progresses.
On the Tennessee side, the fun storyline is Robert Saleh taking over after being fired by this very Jets team. As for Jets vs. Titans injuries in Nashville, linebacker Cedric Gray is notable after suffering a concussion following a UTV accident. The good news for the Titans is that their revamped receiving corps of Wan'Dale Robinson and rookie first-rounder Carnell Tate appears healthy heading in, giving Cam Ward some new weapons to work with.
