Fantasy Football NFL Week 7 Target Report: Tez Johnson and the New Look Buccaneers
Once the NFL season starts, the injury bug never stops attacking. This week, we got scares from Puka Nacua and DJ Moore, with even worse news from Garrett Wilson, who is set to miss a couple of weeks. That’s why we continue to update tools like the Target Totem Pole and the RB Questionnaire all year long. These groups will continue to adjust throughout the entire season, so we need to stay on top of the trends.
2025 Fantasy Football NFL Week 7 Target Report Preview
Why do we do the target report? Well, we have a pretty good indication historically of how many fantasy-relevant pass-catchers can come from each team. The short and sweet is that the vast majority of teams will have one, maybe two fantasy-relevant pass-catchers. And there will almost certainly be more teams with zero than there are with three. Most meaningful fantasy players get at least 100 targets - here is a look at how players on each team over the last decade have hit that milestone.
In the chart below, what we will do is attempt to take each team and project A. the target pecking order, and B. what target range the players will likely fall into. At the bottom, we’ll include some notes as far as what went into the rankings and the color-coded chart. So let’s dive in!

Fantasy Football Week 7 Target Report Advice & Takeaways
If a team has a ** next to them, it means they moved to a new section. If a team has a note, it means there is something we should monitor or some sort of change. If there are no notes, we can assume it is business as usual. After the first week of football, there are a lot of notes!
Clear Top Two
Arizona Cardinals
- Trey McBride
- Marvin Harrison Jr*
- Marvin Harrison Jr was ruled out with a concussion. If he misses time, Zay Jones would pick up the snaps opposite Michael Wilson.
Cincinnati Bengals
- Ja'Marr Chase
- Tee Higgins
- Mike Gesicki could miss time with a pectoral injury, putting Noah Fant on the streaming radar. He’s still behind Chase and Higgins, obviously.
Chicago Bears
- DJ Moore
- Rome Odunze
- Colston Loveland returned to lead in routes run, but he still split with Kmet. Luther Burden continues to look good on his extremely limited usage - only 15 snaps this week. Rome Odunze and DJ Moore lead the show. Moore spent the night in the hospital. We are waiting on news there, but it seems merely precautionary based on initial comments.
Indianapolis Colts
- Michael Pittman
- Tyler Warren
- Josh Downs is still a part-time player, but they still find ways to get him involved. Alec Pierce is a full-time guy, but more of a field stretcher. Downs is a PPR option, and Pierce skews more standard, but neither is a locked-in fantasy option.
Jacksonville Jaguars
- Brian Thomas Jr
- Travis Hunter
- Last week, Travis Hunter played his first two WR sets. This week, his snap share grew even bigger, actually leading the team with 47 routes to 46 for Brian Thomas I know he didn’t pop, but that many snaps with seven targets makes him a viable starter, especially with Brenton Strange out.
Las Vegas Raiders
- Brock Bowers*
- It’s really difficult to trust anyone on this team while Bowers is out. You can spot start Michael Mayer if you need to. Jakobi Meyers used to be a reliable PPR guy, but has struggled as of late. Tre Tucker is kind of a boom/bust option that we really only utilize in standard or best ball. This is a bad team.
Los Angeles Rams
- Puka Nacua
- Davante Adams
- Puka left with an ankle injury but returned in the second half. We’ll have to monitor this, as sometimes guys return to games but then still miss some time. With Tutu Atwell out, Jordan Whittington took Puka’s spot.
Seattle Seahawks
- Jaxon Smith-Njigba
- Cooper Kupp
- AJ Barner still splits with Elijah Arroyo (20 routes for Barner to 15 for Arroyo). If one of them were getting all the work, it would be easier to trust them. JSN is a star, and Kupp at least has 32 targets - no one else has more than 20.
High Consolidation
Atlanta Falcons
- Drake London
- Darnell Mooney
- Kyle Pitts
- Bijan Robinson
- The Bills are a tough matchup, but you’d still like to see more from Kyle Pitts with Darnell Mooney out. You’re likely still starting him where you have him due to a lack of other reliable options, but his streak of games with four catches is over.
Dallas Cowboys
- CeeDee Lamb*
- George Pickens
- Jake Ferguson
- The only question now is how this team will look when Lamb is up and running. The defense is so bad that we might get three fantasy-relevant assets. For now, Pickens and Ferguson are must-starts.
Los Angeles Chargers
- Ladd McConkey
- Quentin Johnston*
- Keenan Allen
- With Quentin Johnston out, they simply put Tre Harris right into his role - Harris led the team in snaps and routes run. Keenan Allen kept his part-time role. Oronde Gadsden Jr quietly played a massive role - his 32 routes were more than Keenan Allen (29) and only one less than Harris and McConkey (33)
Miami Dolphins
- Jaylen Waddle
- De’von Achane
- Darren Waller
- Achane is actually on pace for over 100 targets so far, which is impressive. Waller continues to play more snaps, which is more important to us long term than TDs (though another TD this week is nice). NWI plays over Malik Washington, but they clearly scheme things up for Washington, so he’s the better spot start in desperate times.
Philadelphia Eagles
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Mike Evans*
- Emeka Egbuka*
- Chris Godwin*
- This offseason, it seemed like the Buccaneers had “too many good WRs”. Now we see why they loaded up. With Chris Godwin going down with a hamstring injury, we could see Tez Johnson and Kameron Johnson on the outside with Sterling Shepard in the slot. Cade Otton gets a temporary boost.
Washington Commanders
- Terry McLaurin*
- Deebo Samuel
- Zach Ertz
- No one has really stepped up in a meaningful way for fantasy with Terry McLaurin out. Chris Moore is the closest thing - Jaylin Lane and Luke McCaffrey each played a part-time snap share and only got one target. Zach Ertz gives up some run snaps, but he still plays most pass snaps, so he’s fine.
One Stud, Then Uncertainty
Baltimore Ravens
- Zay Flowers
- Likely is now up to a full snap share along with Mark Andrews, but Andrews played more WR snaps (48 to 36) and got more targets this week despite Likely running slightly more routes. Flowers is the only consistent option.
Carolina Panthers
- Tetairoa McMillan
- Same story here - you aren’t getting anything from anyone except MicMillan, so you might as well stash Jalen Coker.
Denver Broncos
- Courtland Sutton
- Evan Engram now has 19 targets over the last three games. He’s still only playing a limited role (between 50-60% route participation most weeks), so we can’t fully dive in. But you could do worse in a pinch.
Detroit Lions
- Amon-Ra St. Brown
- Same as always - ARSB is locked in, Jameson Williams and Sam LaPorta have their up and down weeks.
Houston Texans
- Nico Collins
- Don’t let the garbage time fool you. It’s still Nico as the top guy with a bit of a rotation after him. Christian Kirk plays primarily slot in three-WR sets with Xavier Hutchinson. For two WR sets, Jayden Higgins oddly plays with Nico. Makes them all tough to trust. Dalton Schultz also only ran 23 of 35 routes, which hurts his upside, too.
Minnesota Vikings
- Justin Jefferson
- Same situation here - Jefferson clearly gets his work first, then it’s Jordan Addison battling with T.J. Hockenson for targets next. In the Kirk Cousins and even Sam Darnold era, that was fine, but their volume - and quality - is hard to come by this year. They’ll be on bye next week to hopefully get healthy.
New Orleans Saints
- Chris Olave
- The role for Juwan Johnson continues to take a hit week after week - the ankle is partially to blame, but they also got multiple TEs back recently. Rashid Shaheed operates more as a boom/bust field stretcher, leaving Olave as your main option.
New York Giants
- Wan’Dale Robinson
- It was a big opportunity for Jalin Hyatt to step up with Darius Slayton out. Instead, Lil’Jordan Humphrey got the second-highest snap share with Wan’Dale Robinson. Darius Slayton should be the other full-time WR when he gets back. Theo Johnson got good deployment, but the Eagles are a brutal matchup for TEs.
New York Jets
- Garrett Wilson*
- Oh boy. Garrett Wilson avoided a major knee injury but could still miss “a couple of weeks” per sources. Josh Reynolds and Arian Smith are probably the next guys up, but you’d have to be in a desperate spot to go there. Mason Taylor could be more involved.
Pittsburgh Steelers
- DK Metcalf
- The blocking for Darnell Washington has seen him play a lot, though Jonnu Smith ran more routes this week. Connor Heyward scored a TD on his one route. I don’t trust anyone here not named DK Metcalf, and that includes Calvin Austin when he gets back. Scotty Miller was second in routes, running only 15 of 31.
Wide Open
Buffalo Bills
- Keon Coleman
- Khalil Shakir
- Dalton Kincaid
- Dalton Kincaid missed this week, but they have a bye, so hopefully he’ll be back on the other side. This team continues to spread the ball around, which caps the upside of its individual pieces outside of Josh Allen. Even James Cook lost pass snaps to Ty Johnson.
Cleveland Browns
- Jerry Jeudy
- David Njoku*
- Harold Fannin
- Cedric Tillman*
- Early reports are that the David Njoku knee injury is not serious. Even if he doesn’t miss time, Harold Fannin will probably work over him for the time being. Isaiah Bond also quietly played a monster snap share this week, making him a potential spot start in fantasy.
Green Bay Packers
- Tucker Kraft
- Matthew Golden
- Romeo Doubs
- Dontayvion Wicks
- It may be temporary until Jayden Reed returns. But, over the last two games, Matthew Golden has played more slot snaps than he has out wide. And that change has led to bigger and better fantasy production for Golden. I’m much more willing to start Golden in his new role.
Kansas City Chiefs
- Xavier Worthy
- Travis Kelce
- Rashee Rice*
- With Rashee Rice officially back this week, we can probably move on from guys like Hollywood Brown, Juju Smith-Schuster, and Tyquan Thornton. The question is whether we can still rely on Travis Kelce and Xavier Worthy.
New England Patriots**
- Hunter Henry
- Stefon Diggs
- Kayshon Boutte
- Mack Hollins
- Demario Douglas
- We thought it was time to trust Stefon Diggs, but he didn’t show up much in this one - big plays kind of made it a weird day. The fact of the matter is that no one is running a full route share each week, which caps the ceiling for everyone to some degree.
San Francisco 49ers**
- Ricky Pearsall
- Jauan Jennings
- George Kittle*
- Christian McCaffrey
- Brandon Aiyuk*
- Kendrick Bourne
- This potentially became even more of a mess than it was previously. Shanahan is generally insistent that the starters are the starters. And we’ve seen Jennings have spot starts like Bourne in the past, where he goes back to his WR3 role. But we also don’t know if/when guys will be back, so it’s hard to project the future.
Tennessee Titans
- Calvin Ridley*
- Elic Ayomanor
- Chig Okonkwo
- We are currently awaiting more info on the Calvin Ridley hamstring injury. Elic Ayomanor led the team in snaps while Van Jefferson ended up being second (Chimere Dike was third, ahead of Tyler Lockett). We are definitely more interested in Elic Ayomanor than Van Jefferson. Chig Okonkwo (35 of 61) split snaps with Gunnar Helm (29), which is not great for his upside, but Chig did run 29 routes to 16 for Helm.
