Well, that time is finally here. All 32 NFL teams have officially reported for their respective training camps yesterday, so it is time for the return of our NFL training camp report! This offseason has seemed like the longest in recent memory (probably due to the success of my Chicago Bears, for once), but with fantasy football drafts already underway and NFL Training Camp Live News piling up every day, I could not be more fired up for the 2026 NFL season.

Below, you will find the biggest headlines from today’s NFL training camp report, NFL Training Camp Live News, along with fantasy football training camp winners and losers. We will also keep you up to date with any major injuries or transactions that happened throughout the day. Without further ado, let’s dive in!

 

 

 

NFL Training Camp Live News - Bijan Robinson, Jahmyr Gibbs Hold Out

Bijan Robinson & Jahmyr Gibbs Hold Out From Practice

Tis the season for our favorite star players to hold out for more money. Headlining our NFL training camp report, both Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs are entering year four, meaning they are both eligible for new contracts, and they absolutely deserve them. 

Through three years, Bijan Robinson has been the bright spot of a mediocre Falcons team, producing 5,648 total yards and 34 total touchdowns while splitting time with former Falcon standout Tyler Allgeier. Jahmyr Gibbs helped bring another explosive element to the Lions' offense, putting up 5,029 total yards and 49 touchdowns, all while sharing the backfield with David Montgomery.

Now that the Lions have moved on from Montgomery and the Falcons from Allgeier, both superstar backs are expected to take on an even larger workload. With durability always being a question with a larger workload, both Gibbs and Robinson want deals done sooner rather than later. 

Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell said, "This will kind of continue. It'll come as it comes. I think that's the best way to say it. This is both sides working through something, and we'll take it as it comes, but that's where it is.”

In addition to the two star running backs, Saints wide receiver Chris Olave was not participating in practice today as he seeks a new deal with the team.

Carter, Ward, & O’Neil Receive Contract Extensions

Well, not EVERYONE needs to hold out this season. Yesterday, three players at the top of their respective positions received contract extensions from their teams.

Jalen Carter, the superstar defensive tackle, received a four-year, $152 million extension worth up to $160 million, including $106 million guaranteed from the Philadelphia Eagles, making him the highest-paid defensive tackle in NFL history. Somehow, someway, Howie Roseman does it again. Yet another draft hit. Yet another paycheck from the seemingly endless stream of cap space Philly has every single year. We’ll see if the countless void years ever catch up to them.

Denzel Ward also topped the market at his position. The Browns signed Ward to a two-year, $62.2 million deal that includes $52.3 million guaranteed and makes him the highest-paid DB in NFL history. This is the second time in Ward’s career that he has been at the top of the corner market. Despite losing Myles Garrett this offseason, the Browns manage to lock up one of their franchise cornerstones. Plus, the Browns didn't stop there, inking Grant Delpit to a three-year extension worth $16 million per year that also includes $35 million guaranteed. 

Finally, the Vikings signed tackle Brian O'Neill to a four-year, $96 million contract extension. While this deal might not top the offensive tackle market, it does give O’Neill a solid, well-deserved payday, as he has been a reliable mainstay on the Vikings' offensive line and will remain there for the next five years.

Training Camp Fight - Ja'Marr Chase vs. Jalen Davis

While big plays and exciting highlights from NFL Training Camp Live News may be fun, my favorite part, personally, is seeing the fire of competition get the best of two players. Today, those two players were Bengals superstar wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase and defensive back Jalen Davis:

The Bengals defense has a lot to prove, as they were ranked 31st out of 32 in 2025. Hopefully the spark provided by Davis, along with some key additions in the offseason, will get that rank up. 

Fantasy Football Winners Of The Day

Sharp fantasy football players will always keep up with NFL Training Camp Live News to see who is on the rise, and even this early on, we have some fantasy football training camp winners! First off, even in a crowded offense featuring Brian Thomas, Parker Washington, Jakobi Meyers, and others, Bhayshul Tuten is being dubbed the “most impressive offensive player” thus far. While Chris Rodriguez is competing for touches with Tuten, if Tuten keeps looking the way he has thus far, he should be the clear RB1 in Jacksonville. 

Luther Burden has also been reportedly getting force-fed targets early on in Bears’ camp. This is big news, as his ADP has skyrocketed all the way to WR22, getting picked over fellow Bears receiver Rome Odunze (who also looks explosive, despite coming off of a concerning foot injury). 

Saints rookie Jordyn Tyson has also been cleared to practice despite his predraft injury concerns and is getting extra work with Chris Olave not participating in drills. 

Finally, if you hold the third pick in your fantasy football draft, hope and pray that your leaguemates are panicking over the NFL training camp report of Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs holding out, as you could get a jackpot of a pick if either of them falls to you at pick three. 

Fantasy Football Losers Of The Day

With fantasy football training camp winners, there also have to be losers, and the headliner of today’s list is Travis Etienne. Even with a newly signed 4-year, $48 million contract with the New Orleans Saints, Travis Etienne has found himself in a 50/50 split backfield with Alvin Kamara, who also received an adjustment to his contract to stay with the team. It seems like David Montgomery has found himself in a similar situation in Houston, as he is splitting the backfield with the incumbent Woody Marks. Finally, new Steelers running back Rico Dowdle has impressed in back-to-back seasons and has history with new Steelers Head Coach Mike McCarthy, but it appears he is still behind Jaylen Warren on the depth chart. Take note in your fantasy football drafts; these are NOT bell-cow backs, so do not draft them as such!

Also, be careful drafting rookies! It appears that Klint Kubiak is sticking to the plan in sitting Fernando Mendoza for the season, choosing to start Kirk Cousins barring injury. 

Another late-round QB target might also see his stock falling: Bryce Young looks like he will be starting the season without his top two offensive tackles, Ikem Ekwonu and Taylor Moton, and now he lost his new, rookie deep threat in Chris Brazzell to injury today. We saw how Justin Herbert struggled down the stretch with offensive injuries; could Bryce Young face the same fate?

There might be trouble in paradise for A.J. Brown and Drake Maye? The two have struggled with their connection early on in camp, and with the players being drafted as the WR10 and QB3 respectively, we might need to temper our expectations to start the season.

 

 

 

NFL Training Camp Injury Updates - Vita Vea, Nnamdi Madubuike

Vita Vea Day-to-Day with Back Injury

Where have I seen this before… A player suddenly gets hurt after requesting a trade? An insane concept! Either way, star defensive tackle Vita Vea is out with a back injury that he picked up during yesterday’s conditioning test and is considered day-to-day according to Head Coach Todd Bowles. Whether you believe this injury is real or if he is just trying to stay healthy so he can be traded is completely up to your interpretation. Either way, please pick up the phone, Ryan Poles!

Bucs star offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs also sat out of practice today due to a tweaked hamstring.

Nnamdi Madubuike Returns

Star defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike flashed onto the scene in 2023, leading to back-to-back Pro Bowl appearances and a Second Team All-Pro nod. Unfortunately, Madubuike would suffer a severe neck injury only two games into his 2025 campaign that had the potential to be career-ending. Thankfully, Madubuike passed his physical today and was removed from the Ravens’ PUP list. A massive addition to a Baltimore defense that should help the team contend in a competitive AFC.
