Fantasy football giveth, and Fantasy Football taketh away. Injuries are plaguing most teams, and they’re taking no hostages. From superstars to glue guys, everyone is susceptible to being hurt. Let’s take a peek at which injuries we need to monitor from a fantasy football perspective.

NFL Week 3 Injury Report: Quarterbacks

Caleb Williams (Chicago Bears)

Williams suffered a hamstring injury in Week 2, which removed him from the game. Ben Johnson stated today that he is likely week-to-week, and I’m expecting him to miss the Week 3 action. Even if he does play, hamstrings have a high re-injury risk, and it’s likely he wouldn’t run as much as well.

Kyler Murray (Minnesota Vikings)

Kyler has cleared concussion protocol and will be active in week 3. This is a huge bump for a Vikings team that struggled on offense in week 2 against Chicago, though the weather may have been more of a factor than Carson Wentz.

Sam Darnold (Seattle Seahawks)

Darnold seems to be ahead of schedule in his return from a glute/hip injury. He has a chance to practice this week, and if he can log a full practice, I expect him to get the start. That said, they could play it safe as Drew Lock has been solid in his relief.

Jayden Daniels (Washington Commanders)

Daniels suffered a dislocated elbow in his left arm this week. This same injury cost him the back half of the season last year, and I’m expecting him to hit the IR. Marcus Mariota will be starting in his place and is one of the better backup QBs for fantasy.

NFL Week 3 Injury Report: Running Backs

Jonathon Brooks (Carolina Panthers)

Brooks is having testing done on a groin injury that he sustained during Week 2’s win against Atlanta. We will not have additional information here until Wednesday, so monitor throughout the week.

J.K. Dobbins (Denver Broncos)

Dobbins suffered a hamstring injury in week 2, but is expected to be good to go per early reports. Jonah Coleman saw a majority of the work with RJ Harvey a late inactive, which makes Coleman the priority waiver add.

Jaylen Wright (Miami Dolphins)

Wright suffered a neck injury that removed him from action in week 2. It appears to be more of a stinger than anything, so I expect him to be good to go as he backs up De'Von Achane.

Saquon Barkley (Philadelphia Eagles)

Saquon suffered a stinger on the first play of the game, but ultimately returned to action. I’m expecting to see that he’s limited in practice this week but should be back starting this week.

Rico Dowdle (Pittsburgh Steelers)

Dowdle suffered a toe injury and was carted to the locker room this weekend. We will need to see practice reports, but I’m not expecting him to return to action next weekend. Warren will likely continue to lead the backfield, with Travis Homer or Eli Heidenreich backing him up.

Jadarian Price (Seattle Seahawks)

Price suffered a shoulder injury this past weekend, but it seems to be “intact and nothing serious,” per Mike McDonald. This will be good news for the team.

NFL Week 3 Injury Report: Wide Receivers

Zay Flowers (Baltimore Ravens)

Flowers missed Week 2 after only logging a single limited practice last week. He will likely need to record multiple practices, or one full practice, to return. I’m expecting him to be inactive in Week 3 at this time. Rashod Bateman stepped up as WR1 in his stead, and I’m expecting him to operate in this fashion again if Flowers is not active.

DJ Moore (Buffalo Bills)

Moore suffered a sprained A/C joint in week 2. The Bills are treating him day-to-day, so it remains to be seen how healthy he is. Practice reports will be crucial for his evaluation this week.

Jayden Reed (Green Bay Packers)

Reed suffered a scary injury to his neck this weekend. Early reports are stating that he has movement in his extremities, which is great news. He’ll be inactive this week, but hopefully he can get healthy and return to action sooner rather than later.

Nico Collins (Houston Texans)

Collins was ruled inactive later in the week after suffering an injury in practice. I’m not expecting him to return to action this week, but that remains to be seen as we see additional practice reports this week.

Alec Pierce (Indianapolis Colts)

Pierce suffered a heel injury on Sunday and was removed from action and quickly ruled out. Given that he was not healthy this offseason or early in the preseason, I’m expecting this to be a multi-week injury for Pierce as the Colts seem like they’ll want to protect their newly paid WR1.

Michael Pittman (Pittsburgh Steelers)

Pittman is dealing with a foot injury that he suffered last week in practice. He did not practice Thursday or Friday. He will need to return to practice this week, but this Steelers offense is really struggling at this point and may want him back sooner if he’s capable.

NFL Week 3 Injury Report: Tight Ends

Brock Bowers (Las Vegas Raiders)

Bowers was doubtful last week, but head coach Klint Kubiak has said that he’s close to returning. At this stage, I’m expecting him to be active in Week 3.

David Njoku (Los Angeles Chargers)

Njoku left the game Sunday with a knee injury. We have yet to hear the severity of the injury, but he was carted off the field, and I’m expecting him to be placed on IR.

Charlie Kolar (Los Angeles Chargers)

Kolar was seen with his left arm in a sling after their Week 2 loss. If he’s unable to go, Oronde Gadsden will see a lot of work in Week 3.

Dallas Goedert (Philadelphia Eagles)

Goedert is scheduled for an MRI after a knee injury was sustained in week 2. If he’s inactive, we’ll see a heavy split between Johnny Mundt and E.J. Jenkins as Grant Calcaterra and Eli Stowers are on IR.
