Alright, gang, it’s time to buckle up. Whether you are fighting for a bye week, battling for a playoff spot, or playing spoiler, these are the most impactful fantasy football games coming up. As always with this 2025 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 14 article, we’re focused on the immediate games with an eye to the future. In the Streamers and Stashes article, we’ll have the one-week spot starts and the guys who are not viable, but we are holding (like handcuffs).

You’ll also notice two things with these best waiver wire picks. One is that we will be much more willing to spend FAAB or use waiver priority here. We have been some of the most conservative with our FAAB recommendations in the industry, only have a few spots along the way where we were dropping the bag (like with Woody Marks). But now we make things happen.

The other change is that we are officially moving away from Yin & Yang tight end rankings to a more matchup-based approach. So, rather than having the two columns, we’ll have linear rankings with the schedule alongside. The time for stashing upside plays that are delivering is over. Let's now get into the 2025 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 14.

2025 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 14 Top Targets

As always, our 2025 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 14 discussion will be split into two articles. This is the main article, which covers the top players to add and best waiver wire picks at each position, as well as an update to our Yin & Yang Tight End strategy. The second article is our Streamers and Stashes article that covers the deeper, more nuanced plays for Fantasy Alarm Members!

NFL Week 14 Waiver Wire Quarterbacks

Marcus Mariota, Washington Commanders

Yahoo: 10% | ESPN: 9% | Sleeper: 19%

Last week we had Trevor Lawrence here - and we still like him if available. But he’s trickled over that 50% mark on most platforms, so he’s not out there in a lot of leagues, especially the deeper ones. Marcus Mariota, on the other hand, is.

We don’t expect him to throw as many times as he did this week in this crazy matchup. And there’s a chance Jayden Daniels does return to ruin our play here. But Mariota has actually thrown for over 200 yards in all four of his starts so far. And, perhaps more importantly, he’s also willing to run, averaging 6.75 carries per game. As we saw in the game vs. the Broncos this past week, they are willing to call designed runs for him as part of that. That gives him a little bit of a floor in fantasy football.

  • Waiver Priority: Low Priority
  • FAAB: 0-5% (more if he starts for you right away)

Tyler Shough, New Orleans Saints

Yahoo: 7% | ESPN: 5% | Sleeper: 12%

Your team might have to be in pretty dire straits to go here. But with bye weeks and injuries, a lot of quarterbacks out there are rostered. And you might just need someone who can go out and not completely faceplant. Tyler Shough has quietly thrown for 282, 243, and 239 yards over his last three games. And he’s thrown two touchdown passes in two of those. Chris Olave and Juwan Johnson have been solid, and DeVaughn Vele has also stepped up a bit.

On top of that, he’s at least started to run a little bit more than he did in his first two games. He’s now run 4, 7, and 6 times over the last few games. He has a good passing matchup here vs. Tampa Bay in Week 14, so he might just be on the spot start radar gain. The rest of his schedule after that sees the Panthers, Jets, and Titans.

Honorable Mention or Deep League Options: JJ McCarthy, Trey Lance (if Justin Herbert is out)

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Running Backs

Devin Singletary, New York Giants

Yahoo: 22% | ESPN: 29% | Sleeper: 44%

Following the Cam Skattebo injury, the Giants had a pretty clear backfield split. Tyrone Tracy would start and operate in space. And Devin Singletary would take all the short-yardage and goal-line work. Unfortunately, on Monday Night Football against the Patriots, Tracy suffered a hip injury in the fourth quarter that saw him carted off.

We don’t yet know the extent of the injury, but if he’s set to miss any amount of time, that will see Singletary as the lead back with Eric Gray likely serving as backup. If we get word today that Tracy is set to go on IR, we’d be willing to bid more in the 25-50% range for Singletary, as starting NFL backs rarely come along for us to add. The Giants go on bye this week, so if you are looking for someone to start for you this week, you need to look elsewhere.

  • Waiver Priority: Medium Priority
  • FAAB: 10-20% (more if Tyrone Tracy goes on IR)

Chris Rodriguez, Washington Commanders

Yahoo: 24% | ESPN: 13% | Sleeper: 42%

Not much has changed from our sentiments when we said to add Rodriguez last week. Yes, they do split the touches over there with Jeremy McNichols getting goal line work and Jacory Croskey Merit mixing in. But Chris Rodriguez is the starter, and he gets the goal line work, which is a big enough slice of the pie to make him useful in a pinch. Guys like that should be rostered.

  • Waiver Priority: Medium to low Priority
  • FAAB: 5-10%

Blake Corum Los Angeles Rams Yahoo: 16% | ESPN: 13% | Sleeper: 24%

Not only is Corum one of the league’s premier handcuffs if anything were to happen to Kyren Williams, but he’s quietly carving himself out a bit of a role. Historically, Sean McVay has been willing to lean heavily on his starter, but this year, Corum has played 30% or more of the snaps in six weeks, including each of the last four. He’s gotten at least seven carries in six straight games, which moves him more into handcuff plus territory.

  • Waiver Priority: Low priority
  • FAAB: 5-10%

Honorable Mention or Deep League Options: Zonovan Knight, Bhayshul Tuten, Tyler Allgeier

NFL Week 14 Waiver Wire Wide Receivers

Jayden Higgins, Houston Texans

Yahoo: 35% | ESPN: 36% | Sleeper: 40%

Jayden Higgins is the best “now & later” option on the waiver wire at wide receiver. He’s currently given you decent production with at least four receptions in four straight. He’s also caught three TD passes over his last six games while being forced out one yard short of the goal line against the Titans.

He doesn’t quite have an every-down role right now, which is a bit of a double-edged sword. On one hand, his upside is slightly capped until that changes. On the other hand, think of what the upside could be down the stretch if it does. Over the second half of the season, he’s had games of 8, 7, 7, 9, and 5 targets. We had him as our top waiver add last week as well, and this might be the last chance to get him.

  • Waiver Priority: Top Waiver Add
  • FAAB: 25-50%

Pat Bryant, Denver Broncos

Yahoo: 2% | ESPN: 1% | Sleeper: 5%

We will cover the “spot start” options in our Streamers and Stashes article. In this one, we are looking at the combination of usefulness now plus during fantasy playoffs. And Pat Bryant just became a very interesting candidate.

For much of the year, Troy Franklin has been the WR2. He’s played over 150 more snaps than Bryant this year. But, quietly, Pat Bryant has played 123 run block snaps to 119 for Franklin, indicating that they may view him as the better blocker. This week, Troy Franklin was only trusted with two designed RB runs and, on one of them, his assignment made the tackle. Overall, this week we saw Pat Bryant play more snaps, run more routes, and be more productive. We may have seen the changing of the guard for the rookie Pat Bryant coming out of the bye week. We’d rather not throw him right into lineups if we can avoid it, but I want him on my bench at least.

  • Waiver Priority: Medium to low Priority
  • FAAB: 5-10%

Adonai Mitchell, New York Jets

Yahoo: 3% | ESPN: 3% | Sleeper: 7%

This is a scary one, we’re not going to lie. Adonai Mitchell has been getting the snaps as the primary X receiver for the Jets. And he’s been creating separation. But, up until recently, he has not been catching the ball.

In his first two games as the full-time starter, he got 13 total targets. He caught 3 of them. This past game, he just got 12 targets, catching 8 for 102 yards and a score. Was he just getting acclimated to his new quarterback(s) and now he’s up to speed? Or is this most recent week the outlier, and he’ll go back to letting the ball hit the turf? We have to give him the benefit of the doubt and hope that he can keep the positive momentum going. He gets teams like Miami, Jacksonville, and New Orleans during fantasy playoffs.

  • Waiver Priority: Medium to low Priority
  • FAAB: 5-10%

Honorable Mention or Deep League Options: Devaughn Vele, Kayshon Boutte, John Metchie, Khalif Raymond, Luther Burden, Chimere Dike

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Tight Ends

Darren Waller, Miami Dolphins

Yahoo: 30% | ESPN: 20% | Sleeper: 37%

Just as we said last week when we were adding Waller, we are focusing on the highest upside play possible. And Darren Waller, in his role in this offense, presents that. We aren’t so much worried about the box score here in his first game back as we are about his usage.

He ran 69% of the routes this week, indicating to us that there’s likely very little limitation on him going into Week 14. He also lined up at WR for 19 of his snaps, in line for only 7, and in the backfield for 1. Waller could easily be the WR2 for this team next to Jaylen Waddle, as he was before the injury. And his schedule for a tight end is great with the Jets, Steelers, and Bengals on deck. The Bengals are easily the worst team against the tight end that we’ve seen in years.

  • Waiver Priority: Medium to Low Add
  • FAAB: 10-15%

Brenton Strange, Jacksonville Jaguars

Yahoo: 33% | ESPN: 22% | Sleeper: 47%

If you want to go the more conservative route, this is your option. As expected, Brenton Strange came out and was third on the team in routes run behind Brian Thomas and Jakobi Meyers. The setup, in theory, should be similar to Liam Coen’s offense last year with BTJ in the Mike Evans role and Jakobi Meyers in the Chris Godwin role. Brenton Strange is then your every-down, inline tight end like Cade Otton was.

The differences really are that the WRs are as good as the WRs in Tampa Bay, but the QB also isn’t as good. Either way, Cade Otton would routinely lead the league in snaps for Coen, and we expect Srange to operate similarly here. That creates a solid floor, and the success of the WRs will dictate his upside. If you are completely out on Brian Thomas Jr, you should be in on Strange.

  • Waiver Priority: Medium to Low Add
  • FAAB: 10-15%

NFL Week 14 Waiver Wire DST

Tampa Bay Buccaneers DST

Yahoo: 29% | ESPN: 23% | Sleeper: 31%

Tampa Bay has been our top defensive stash for a couple of weeks now with this schedule. Their next games are against the Saints, Falcons, Panthers, and Dolphins to wrap the fantasy season. The Panthers might not be the bad matchup we once considered them to be, but most teams have a much tougher opponent somewhere on the schedule.

Tennessee Titans DST

Yahoo: 4% | ESPN: 1% | Sleeper: 2%

There are two obvious options here. The Titans vs. the Browns or the Dolphins vs. the Jets. And they are both pretty close in terms of streaming options for this week. You should really make the call between the two based on whether you have another defense and what their schedule is. We’re giving the nod to the Titans because they have a second potentially useful matchup against the Saints left on the schedule, whereas you probably wouldn’t use the Dolphins again.

Honorable Mention or Deep League Options: Indianapolis Colts DST vs. HOU, Miami Dolphins DST vs. NO

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Kickers

Will Lutz, Denver Broncos

Yahoo: 45% | ESPN: 16% | Sleeper: 18%

Lutz might not be out there. But he’s less than 50% rostered on some platforms. And he’s in a great spot this week. The Broncos get the lowly Las Vegas Raiders this week, and the game will be played in a dome. So he’s the best streaming option if he’s out there. Our next option is available in most leagues, though, so try for Lutz and, if not, go for Mevis.

Harrison Mevis, Los Angeles Rams

Yahoo: 3% | ESPN: 25% | Sleeper: 3%

I know he’s only been around for a limited amount of time. The Rams are scoring at will with Davante Adams, which may limit his opportunities. But, between field goals and extra points, Harrison Mevis has yet to miss a kick of any kind so far. Arizona’s dome with a grass playing surface also offers about as ideal of kicking conditions as you can get in the NFL. And Mevis is widely available in leagues.

NFL Yin & Yang Tight End Rankings

It's sad to see them go but, at this stage, we are ditching the Yin & Yang tight end rankings. Those are based on balancing someone “safe” to start" with hypothetical upside stashed on the bench. But the time for benching hypothetical upside is over.

We are now moving to a more matchup-based approach. For simplicity, there are five levels of matchup type color-coded as the chart indicates below. These not only factor in raw points allowed to the tight end position but also strength of opponent as well as the individual players that actually cover tight end and whether they are healthy or not. For instance, the Seahawks are currently a good matchup but, if safety Julian Love were to return from IR, we would potentially adjust that.

Since we have must-win games here, these rankings are always going to skew towards the upcoming week(s). If your starter has bad matchups ahead, you can hopefully plan accordingly using the matchup chart. Here are what the colors represent - good luck out there!
