It’s here folks. The most sacred day in football. THANKSGIVING. A day packed with the five Fs: Family, Friends, Food, Football, and Friggin’ Beers. Each one as important as the next. And though we’d love to debate the merits of in-bird vs. out-of-bird stuffing or whether any actually likes double IPAs or are just pretending to be cool, this article is about football. We’ll leave those other debates to the Reddit comments.

Those unfamiliar with this article, these are just my half PPR tight end rankings for this week. They are free because I swore a sacred oath to your parents that I would protect you. And the only way to save Gotham City is for you to win all your fantasy leagues. That starts with the most important position.

If you want the season-long rankings for your roster decisions, those can be found at the bottom of the waiver wire article where it says Yin & Yang Tight End. If you want my rankings for every position and every format, those are available to Fantasy Alarm Members here. So are my TE DFS picks both for the Thanksgiving slate and the weekend main slate. I mean, there’s all sorts of cool stuff on there to help you enjoy sports more and make money. And pop into Coop’s Corner in the premium Discord to say hi once you are signed up! There’s even a Fantasy Alarm Black Friday sale that has already started that gets your 50% off all the way through 2026 - the best deal we ever offer!

As always, I’ll be available for comments or concerns in the Twitter or Reddit threads, so feel free to weigh in there with your own thoughts - or any questions you have for this week!

Sunday Update

  • Removed Thanksgiving and Black Friday players who have already played
  • If you are worried about weather for George Kittle or illness/matchup for Tyler Warren, you can consider Tier 3 or even 4 players. But I'm starting them where I have them.
  • Added Dalton Kincaid (you may need to start 1 PM players if you don't have a good pivot if he is ruled OUT)
  • Slight bump to Juwan Johnson with Chris Olave dealing with back spasms
  • Slight drop to Harold Fannin Jr with weather
  • Slight drop to Cade Otton with QB injury concerns
  • Slight drop to Brenton Strange with Brian Thomas Jr active

Week 13 Tight End Rankings: Tier 1

Trey McBride has been performing like an elite RB/WR since Jacoby Brissett took over. So much so that DFS platforms like DraftKings have actually priced him up to be the 7th most expansion FLEX player. He’s getting the prime Travis Kelce treatment because he’s putting up those kinds of numbers.

Week 13 Tight End Rankings: Tier 2

Everyone in this tier has a slight knock on them. Bowers and Warren have tough matchups. Kittle has some weather issues here (and every so often is asked to help out blocking a little bit with guys like Myles Garrett though that’s more a Luke Farrell job). Travis Kelce at this stage doesn’t offer much in the YAC department but he’s got a good matchup with Dallas on tap today.

Week 13 Tight End Rankings: Tier 3

The Bengals have been HISTORICALLY bad against the tight end. Most receptions, yards, and touchdowns allowed in the league and they’ve allowed 13 TDs in 11 games (next highest is 7). Even bad tight ends are popping against them. So Andrews is a start here and if he doesn’t do anything you just have to chalk it up as a “bad beat”. Gadsden has had a couple down weeks but I expect him to be healthy and, with his deployment and QB, his ceiling is super high even if the floor isn’t great. Jake Ferguson is the opposite - great floor, not the best ceiling with his lack of athleticism and YAC upside. Juwan Johnson hurt his knee vs. Buffalo and had three down weeks - every other week he’s had double digit PPR points. If someone wanted to rank him as high as 6, I would not argue with that.

Week 13 Tight End Rankings: Tier 4

This tier is a little more of the “old reliable” group. They can let us down in any given week (many weeks recently, with Kyle Pitts). But they have fulltime deployment in terms of route participation, target floor, and decent matchups. Dalton Schultz had the down week vs. the number 1 TE defense but his matchup is much better this week. If Dalton Kincaid can actually play, he will be added to the top if this tier on Sunday.

Week 13 Tight End Rankings: Tier 5

This is a bit shakier ground but there’s actually a lot of upside here - enough that you could consider these guys over the tier 4 guys if you wanted to accept that risk. For instance, Harold Fannin lead the team in routes run and targets - but it was for Shedeur Sanders. Mike Gesicki played 28 snaps but 26 of them were lined up at WR plus Tee Higgins is out - but he’s Mike Gesicki and has been notorious for disappearing at times. Colston Loveland doesn’t have a full time role despite our fantasy wishing but he clearly has talent. Evan Engram also doesn’t have a full-time role. Zach Ertz offers near zero YAC and McLaurin is back but he always get some looks. Mason Taylor plays for the Jets. Upside is good, floor is not. If Darren Waller were to be activated, he’ll go in here.

Week 13 Tight End Rankings: Tier 6

Given what we saw last week with Alvin Kamara out, Taysom Hill could actually be a viable option here which is something I rarely say. One thing I have always been consistent on with Taysom Hill is this - the decision to start him or not is yours and yours alone. Taysom Hill is like a box of chocolates. You never know if they are going to have 30 points inside or some weird strawberry cream.

Week 13 Tight End Rankings: Tier 7

This is a group of guys that are either technically starters or not starters but offer some viable path to 4-5 targets. Don’t love it.

Week 13 Tight End Rankings: Tier 8

You are really sending it in this range. If using Anthony Firkser in a random Thanksgiving only DFS slate is wrong, I don’t want to be right.
