Pace

Pace definition: Pace is the total number of possessions a team uses in a game.

*key* Green is elite pace of play, Blue is decent pace of play, & Red is slow pace of play.

Green = Fast Paced team

Blue = Neutral Paced team

Red = Slow Paced team

NBA Game Totals Today, 3/12

Top-Tier NBA DFS Core Plays

Giannis Antetokounmpo, PF/C, Sacramento Kings

We have a great game environment ahead of us tonight between Milwaukee and the Kings. This game will be very competitive and played at a fast pace. Giannis has a triple-double upside every single night and that doesn't change here. In fact, in the last matchup against the Kings Giannis put up a 27-10-10 triple-double. He is the highest-priced player on the slate, but it might be worth it.

Victor Wembanyama, C, San Antonio Spurs

We didn't expect Wemby to suit up tonight, but he is not listed on the injury report heading into tonight on the second night of a back-to-back. He has been phenomenal as of late scoring over 50 DKP in four of his last five games including two games over 70. With Alperen Sengun out in this one, I look for Wemby to take advantage of a thin Rockets frontcourt.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, PG, Oklahoma City Thunder

SGA is the cover boy of the playbook tonight because of the great matchup against the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers rank in the top two in pace in the NBA and are one of the worst defensive teams. The one-on-one matchup against Aaron Nesmith is not ideal, but it doesn't matter, especially with Jalen Williams questionable to go.

Domantas Sabonis, C, Sacramento Kings

Domantas Sabonis is one of the most consistent players for DFS purposes. The guy is just a double-double machine which means he is almost guaranteed to hit his value. He has scored over 60 DKP in three straight games, and I do not expect that to change tonight in a good matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Jayson Tatum, SF/PF, Boston Celtics

Jayson Tatum was a late add to the playbook once the news broke about KP, Al Horford, and Jalen Brown being ruled out. It is a great matchup going against the banged-up Utah Jazz who rank as the third-worst defensive efficiency team in the NBA.

Mid-Tier NBA DFS Core Plays

Damian Lillard, PG, Milwaukee Bucks

Damian Lillard is coming off two huge games for the Bucks. He has played 38 minutes in back-to-back games scoring 55 and 64 DKP and his shot has started to fall. He has hit at least four three-pointers in four straight games and has scored over 28 game points in three of the last four games. It will be hard to pass up Lillard at his price tonight.

James Harden, PG, Los Angeles Clippers

James Harden is a must-play tonight if Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are ruled out. If they play, I still like him, but he isn't a must-play at that point. Harden has a solid floor every night because of his ability to dish the rock. But to have a huge game we need his shot to fall. He shot just 5-17 from the court last game for just 13 points, but he still scored 35 DKP because of the assists.

Kyle Kuzma, PF/C, Washington Wizards

Kyle Kuzma has been on fire as of late, and he has played big minutes in his last two games. In eight straight games, he has scored over 40 DKP and his price tag is only $8,000 on DraftKings. That seems like a miss-price to me with this Memphis team being in absolute shambles. The one issue is the Grizzlies playing at such a slow pace right now, but that doesn't scare me off this play tonight.

Fred VanVleet, PG, Houston Rockets

This one is easy for me, and he was in consideration for being the cover boy of the playbook. With Alperen Sengun out with a lower-leg injury, the entire offense will be run through FVV. His price is just $7,900 making him someone who you need to find a way to get into your lineup.

Malik Monk, SG/SF, Sacramento Kings

Malik Monk has been on another level as of late and he could be in line for a start tonight with Keegan Murray being questionable. Monk is priced at just $6,700 on DraftKings. He has gone 5x value of that in four of his past five games and is getting up a ton of shots during that span taking at least 16 attempts.

Jabari Smith, PF, Houston Rockets

Jabari Smith is another Rocket who is in play tonight with Alperen Sengun. They could go small ball and play Smith at center which could leave more rebounding responsibilities for Smith. In the last two games, he has been rebounding much better grabbing 20 rebounds during that span. It is also a great pace-up spot against the Spurs, who are also a bad defensive team.

Paul Reed, PF/C, Philadelphia 76ers

Paul Reed has moved to the bench for the 76ers, but it hasn't affected his production as of late. Reed has a double-double in two of his last three games while scoring 31, 44, and 44 DKP. He was even good in the last matchup against the Knicks in a game in which the final score was 79-73.

Value-Tier NBA DFS Core Plays

GG Jackson, PF, Memphis Grizzlies

With all the uncertainties with the Grizzlies rotation, GG Jackson is back playing huge minutes. He played 38 minutes, took 19 shots, finished with 30 game points, and finished with 45 DKP. He is just $5,600 on DraftKings, and I will be playing him tonight in a great matchup against the Wizards.

Jake LaRavia, SF, Memphis Grizzlies

Jake LaRavia is another Grizzly that is in play tonight. He is a huge part in this rotation at this moment playing at least 24 minutes in the last four games. LaRavia has also been very good from a fantasy point-per-minute standpoint as well scoring over 24 DKP in each game.

Corey Kispert, SF/PF, Washington Wizards

We know we are playing with fire when putting Corey Kispert in your lineups. However, when he hits, he can win you a tournament. He scored 38 fantasy points in his last game while playing 39 minutes. That was his second game in a row playing at least 30 minutes. That was his fourth time in his last 10 games scoring over 30 DKP. However, he has also had four games under 20 during that span. Play him tonight if you are feeling a bit risky.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker, SG/SF, Minnesota Timberwolves

NAW started in the last game and went completely off. He scored 36 DKP scoring 15 points dishing out five assists and grabbed seven rebounds. If he is going to start and continue to get these minutes, he should be in play tonight, we just need his shot to fall to return value.

Boston Celtics Centers

With Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis out tonight, Luke Kornet and Xavier Tillman are both in play. Kornet has outplayed Tillman as of late and should be the one to get the starting nod. You really cannot go wrong with either guy at both of their prices being $4,000 or below.
