We kick off Thanksgiving week with an eight game NBA DFS main slate with big names leading the way like Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Victor Wembanyama and Domantas Sabonis. We also have quite a few games with large spreads and some key players listed as out or questionable that will impact our roster builds.

Notable NBA Game Totals

Top Tier Core Plays

Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets

Can't go a slate with Jokic without mentioning him as a top tier play. He has flashed 80+ fantasy point upside multiple times now and tonight faces a Pistons team that could once again be without Jalen Duren, not that he would make a difference. The worry here would be a blowout where maybe we don't get the 30+ minutes but we've also seen Jokic have himself a triple-double by half before so anything is possible. If the Pistons surprise and actually hang around for a bit then we could have a big ceiling game here once again.

De'Aaron Fox, Sacramento Kings

Speaking of ceiling games. Fox is coming off yet another big time performance on Sunday, scoring 30-points with four rebounds, seven assists and three steals. This comes on the heels of his 43-point effort against the Spurs on Friday.  Fox is an absolute stud at his price point and we are looking at a game with a 236 total and a one-point spread.

Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio Spurs

We've made a living over the years attacking the Clippers front court and here we have Wembanyama coming off a 19 point, 13 rebound and eight block effort against the Grizzlies. As long as he continues to be priced under $9,000 there is 5-7x upside.

Mid-Tier Core Plays

Kristaps Porzingis, Boston Celtics

With the Celtics on the second leg of a back-to-back we thought we might have seen Porzingis sit this one out but instead it was Al Horford getting the night off. With the Celtics primary backup center now out of the lineup we have Porzingis coming off of a big game against the Grizzlies where he had 26 points with eight rebounds and six blocks. We said on the NBA DFS Show this morning that Porzingis is honestly too cheap at this price point given what we know his ceiling can be.

Fred VanVleet, Houston Rockets

Three straight games of 40+ minutes is what we love to see here with VanVleet who has seemingly settled in with his new team and role. We love the assist numbers we are seeing as he runs the offense and we know he can still score though that scoring ceiling may never be as high as it was during times with the Raptors but we've been getting 40+ fantasy points in six of the last 10 games and 50+ fantasy points in three of those six. If the home Warriors are competitive tonight, another 40-to-50 FP from FVV could be in the cards.

Herbert Jones, New Orleans Pelicans

Guys that can bring you defensive upside always bring a pretty high fantasy ceiling on nights where the scoring comes through. In just 28 minutes on Saturday we saw Jones finish with 39.5 fantasy points, scoring 13 points with four rebounds, eight assists, two blocks and two steals while fouling out. We also saw a 40+ fantasy point effort against the Mavericks where he had 19 points with four rebounds, four assists, two blocks and five steals. On an average size slate, in a game with a high total and a one-point spread, I find myself looking at Jones as a guy with the potential to 7-8x return when things fall into place.

Value Tier Core Plays

Sam Hauser, Boston Celtics

With Derrick White and Al Horford ruled out tonight we assume that Hauser is the one entering the starting lineup. When White missed games a few weeks back the team went with a big lineup starting Horford but that option is not longer in play. Hauser played 35 minutes as a starter a few nights ago and let the DFS community down but he continues to thrive off the bench as a knock down three-point shooter that can give you a few rebounds and defensive stat here and there. On a slate with little value, he is going to be in play if starting.

Alex Caruso, Chicago Bulls

Everything I wrote about Herbert Jones can also pretty much be put right here with Alex Caruso. Caruso is a difference maker on the defensive end of the floor but when the shot drops he does enough to have quite a nice ceiling. He has started the last two games for the Bulls and has finished with 21 and 30 fantasy points. Caruso has also missed time in each of the last two games, having to go to the locker room for various issues. If not for these locker room stints we may have seen Caruso play 35+ minutes instead of 23 and 29. Even with a low game total here against the Heat tonight I still like him.

Brandin Podziemski, Golden State Warriors

We can't argue the fact that he clearly has a role on this team right now. With Curry back there other night he still played 25 minutes off the bench. Now, it wasn't his best shooting performance but if the minutes are going to hold true, we know the kid can shoot and he's shown the ability to fill the stat sheet here as well.

Jae'Sean Tate, Houston Rockets

With Tari Eason ruled out tonight I'd expect to see Tate playing 20-to-25 minutes here tonight given his position versatility. Tate, off the bench has shown the ability to be a fantasy point per minute player at times this season and is someone that can fill the stat sheet. He also has a low floor, so, just know what you are putting into your lineups tonight if you got this route for value.

Norman Powell, Los Angeles Clippers

He provides a scoring punch off the bench for the Clippers and now actually gets a good second unit point guard in Russell Westbrook to be on the floor with him. On a slate with limited value we see many looking Powell's way tonight.
