Ja Morant and Devin Booker were absolute garbage yesterday, at least for our bets. The Phoenix Suns scored 114 points yet Devin Booker was only able to earn 4 assists. That is less than half of his average since returning from injury… disgusting.

Even worse, the Memphis Grizzlies scored 127 points and the praise for Ja Morant was high. He scored a couple crucial field goals in the last minute to give the Grizzlies a two point victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Where were those points throughout the game? He managed a measly 12 points and four of those were in the final minute.  

Luckily the parlay was successful, and let’s hope that a sport played in climate controlled conditions will not be affected by the weather. Back to business this Sunday as we stay away from unpredictable backcourt players.
 

 

 

NBA Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 1/12

There are nine games on this action packed Sunday, and there are several good matches. The first game in today’s slate has been somewhat derailed due to injuries, but we found a great parlay for the Bet of The Day.
 

 

 

Parlay Prediction: DEN ML, Michael Porter 18+ Points (+124 on DraftKings Sportsbook) *Bet of the Day

Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon, and Nikola Jokic have all missed time over the past three games. Murray and Gordon are listed as questionable today, and Jokic is listed as probable. The one constant since their championship year has been a player that was considered extremely high risk. Michael Porter Junior.

Porter Jr. has played the most games of any starter over the past three years, but due to his back injuries many considered him a bust. He had three back surgeries and missed 100 games in his first five seasons, but has been cured of chronic back pain. He has rewarded the Denver Nuggets patience (and max contract) with excellent basketball. 

Porter Jr. is currently tied with his career best, 19.0 points per game average, and has his best assists marks of his career, 2.5 per game. This season is arguably his best, and his mid-range game has never looked better. 

He has been aided by Russell Westbrook who is a pass first point guard, and he is creating open looks for his field goals with drives into the paint. His line is set at 17.5 or 18.5 depending on the book. For Draftkings his line is set at 18.5, and although he could very easily score over 20, dropping the hook is recommended for the parlay.

The Nuggets moneyline has moved throughout the day, and is currently above -200 on all books. The Dallas Mavericks will be without Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving today, and will have trouble keeping pace with the Nuggets. Put one unit on a plus odds, two fold parlay.
 

 

 

Kings vs Bulls Prediction: Nikola Vucevic Over 1.5 Threes made (-140 on Bet365)

Nikola Vucevic delivered with a same game parlay combination on two player props in the Chicago Bulls most recent match. Today, we return to the single prop that is known as The Well. It is a provider of units, and has provided everyone in the Fantasy Alarm Betting Bungalow with a new pair of shoes. 

Vucevic is literally a three-point making machine, although the national media has given him little attention. Centers attempting long range field goals is the new norm. Yet Vucevic’s consistency behind the arc is what makes him special for bettors.

Hornets vs Suns Prediction: Mark Williams Double-Double (+170 on Bet365)

The Charlotte Hornets have not played a game since January 7th, and that was against the same team they are playing against today. The Phoenix Suns. The Hornets had scheduled games against the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers but were unable to play either.

Thus they find themselves well rested to play against a team they have been watching film on for a couple days. They are also well rested playing against an older team participating in the second of back-to-back nights. This should give an advantage to the younger Hornets.

Mark Williams has a rebounding line of 8.5 on Bet365, and 9.5 on several other sportsbooks. He earned 10 rebounds in his most recent match, and has 10 or more in three of his last five games. He earned 9 in the two games he did not reach 10, and he is averaging over 9 rebounds in his last eight games.

Phoenix’s center position is a mess, as they currently have two of Nikola Jokic’s former backups. Williams is a strong seven foot, 23 year old that should have his way when close to the rim. Put a unit for him to earn a double-double against a tired front court.
