The same game parlay bet of the night hit and it did so exactly at the teased down line. Mykal Bridges only played twelve minutes and it has been difficult to find any information as to why, but it is likely an injury. Luka Doncic used ‘Luka magic’ to cover the high point prop, lesson learned. There are eight games today and most are playing after a rested day. There are a couple of entertaining games, and a few expected blowouts. Today’s Fantasy Alarm NBA Best Bets focuses on the projected close games, which allow for the player to play a full four quarters. One of the most entertaining games will be the Memphis Grizzlies at the Denver Nuggets with a 9:00 PM ET tip off. It features the Bet of the Night relying on a hot shooter. The bitter Central Division rival is back on tonight as the Indiana Pacers travel to Chicago and play the injured Bulls. There is a bet on a player in a slight shooter slump. There is also a proposition bet on a new name to the column as the Portland Trail Blazers host the San Antonio Spurs with a 10:00 PM ET tip off.

NBA Bet of the Night

Michael Porter Jr., Denver Nuggets – OVER 2.5 Threes Made (-135 DK) 2 UNIT

Michael Porter Jr. (MPJ) is one of the best three-point shooters in the league, and this bet is one of my highest volume bets over the past three years. The Denver Nuggets host the Memphis Grizzlies and they are on a combined nine-game win streak. The Nuggets starters were all healthy until Aaron Gordon was bit by dogs on Christmas night. He suffered lacerations on his face and shooting hand due to this and is out indefinitely. The Memphis Grizzlies have won every game since the return of Ja Morant. These were the #1 and #2 ranked teams in the Western Conference playoffs last year, and they did not meet. It should be a tightly contested game, and Michael Porter Jr. will need to be an elite scorer and rebound well if the Nuggets are going to cover the -7 spread. MPJ has covered this prop in his last three games, and with A. Gordon out, MPJ will be called upon more than usual. He has covered this line in all but two home games this month. In one of those games he only played twenty-two minutes due to a large lead. Trust the seven-foot guard to get the threes tonight. He made three with over ten minutes left in the second quarter of the Christmas game and could do the same tonight.

NBA Prop Bets

Coby White, Chicago Bulls – UNDER 3.5 Threes Made (-125 DK)

It was only a couple of weeks ago that this column was smashing the over on Coby White’s point line, he has now gone into a bit of a shooting slump. He is 0-15 on three attempts in his last two games and has less than 3.5 threes made in his last five games. He has not shot double-digit three-point attempts during that span, and if he does not get ten attempts he will have a difficult time covering this line. The Indiana Pacers allow the second most points per game with 125.4, but points are scored from the free throw line and predominantly inside the three-point line. Four threes, even in today’s NBA, is a low-probability outcome. The loss of starting center, Nikola Vucevic, could force the Chicago Bulls to play a different style of offense, or Coby could continue his cold streak. The Pacers allow the tenth most points to opposing point guards, but Coby is excellent at getting through the frontcourt for easy shots.

Jerami Grant, Portland Trail Blazers – OVER 20.5 Points (-125 BetMGM)

Jerami Grant is having a quiet, but productive season as the veteran on a young Portland Trail Blazers team. J. Grant is averaging twenty-two points per game which is the forty-first best in the Association. Most would not label J. Grant as a leading #2 player, but in the scoring department, he is. Teammate Anfernee Simons is a great scorer and has the highest point total line for either team tonight, but J. Grant is Portland’s leading scorer this season with 549 points. Despite the Trail Blazers only having eight wins, it is double what their opponent, the San Antonio Spurs have. The Spurs allow the third most points to opposing teams, with 123.2 points per game. This should allow J. Grant to go over his average, and this line is set below his average. Also with Portland playing the Spurs twice in two days, Grant could see heavy minutes tonight with a night off tomorrow. This should be an easy cover, even with Victor Wembanyama playing tonight.
