NBA Best Bets & Player Props December 12: Jrue Holiday and the Celtics Take on the Cavaliers
There are five NBA games today, and two of them are nationally televised. The Los Angeles Lakers vs Dallas Mavericks at 5:30 PM ET followed by Golden State Warriors vs Phoenix Suns at 10:00 PM ET. Both are on TNT and both will be tough Western Conference battles. Dallas is the only one of the four teams in back-to-back games, but the Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, Denver Nuggets, Sacramento Kings, and Los Angeles Clippers are all playing the second of back-to-back games, so use caution when making decisions on those games.
What a hit yesterday for this article, bringing home over three units, despite a loss. This column has now had seven successful bets out of the last nine. In doing so the total unit count for the column is at +9.77 units. It is highly recommended you WITHDRAW THE PROFITS! Any dummy can keep putting money into a machine, but a smart bettor will establish marks to hit their goal. We can always build back up, but the odds are set against us, and we can lose it all easier than winning it back. With an established goal to double our bankroll of forty units, there are increments to hit and we have hit one.
A positive eight units is 20% towards the goal of forty units, if betting on this column withdraw the positive units and start back with a +1.77 units. That is a suggestion, of course, it is your money, and utilize whatever tactics you like with your bankroll.
NBA Best Bets & Betting Picks December 12th
NBA Bet of the Night
Phoenix Suns Money Line (-155 BetMGM)
The Phoenix Suns host the Golden State Warriors in the marquee game of TNT tonight. It is a special night for the Suns, and their fans, as ‘The big three’ of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal will play their first game together of the 2023-24 season. They were pre-season favorites to win the NBA Championship, but have faltered thus far going 12-10. Durant has been the most reliable although he’s much older than his teammates. Durant has played so well that he was a member of the inaugural In Season Tournament ‘all-team’ although he only played one game outside of the group stage. With all three on the floor, it will be difficult for the Golden State Warriors to eliminate their scoring.
The Suns’ center, Jusuf Nurkic, should have command in the middle against Kevon Looney and Draymond Green. The Suns could start slow but should take care of the 10-12 Warriors by the end of the game. Grayson Allen is out for the Suns, but that could allow Booker and Durant to get into a better rhythm with Beal. Trust the unit on the Suns.
NBA Prop of the Night
Jrue Holiday OVER 4.5 Assists (-150 at DraftKings)
The Boston Celtics are back in a no-pressure situation, which they thrive in. They had the greatest odds for the In-Season Tournament at two different times, but once again cracked under the pressure of the moment. They have a track record of failing in do-or-die games since the 2019-2020 NBA playoffs. The Celtics are playing at home and playing against a team in the second of back-to-back road games.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are traveling from Florida to Massachusetts too. The Celtics have a clear advantage tonight, but this prop bet focuses on the point guard, Jrue Holiday. J. Holiday has gone over this line in three of his last four games and with Kristaps Porzingis back, Holiday has three capable scoremakers at his disposal (including Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown). If you want to lower the odds down you can add the Celtics money line in a same-game parlay and move the line to -130. This proposition could be first-half cash, and this column is looking to keep the positive units rolling.
