Knicks vs. Pacers Predictions For NBA Playoffs ECF Game 3, 5/25
It may not have been the overtime thriller of Game 1, but Game 2 gave us an awesome Friday night. Both teams held leads throughout the game, but ultimately, Jalen Brunson and the Knicks now have a tall task ahead of them.
While the Clutch Player of the Year was able to come through with 36 points and 11 assists, we have our eyes on a different star for Game 3. Time and time again we’ve seen Karl-Anthony Towns look great and then become non-existent as the game wears on. Unfortunately for New York fans, that was yet again the case on Friday night.
KAT put up 20 points, but just two of those came in the fourth quarter, and they were free throws - he was just 0-for-1 from the field in that final quarter. We need to see him get more involved, and for some foreshadowing regarding the best bet from our Knicks vs. Pacers predictions, we expect him to do so.
New York Knicks: History Now Against Them
There’s about 1000 different ways to spin it at this point, but it all boils down to this - no team has ever gone down 2-0 at home in a best-of-seven series to come back and win it. Even teams that go up 2-0 period win 92% of the time in the conference finals. It’s all amplified with these teams specifically.
When taking a 2-0 lead, the Pacers are a perfect 9-0. When falling in an 0-2 hole, the Knicks are winless 0-14. Perhaps leaving Madison Square Garden will be beneficial for them, as the Pacers have now won an amazing six straight road playoff games. After all, New York did close out the Boston Celtics at the other garden - TD Garden.
Indiana Pacers: Siakam Steals The Show
Let’s start talking about Indiana’s Pascal Siakam just how the game started - with him scoring each of the first 11 points for the Pacers! He was the primary driving force behind their Game 2 win, as Tyrese Haliburton was the complete opposite of how he looked in Game 1, not scoring for nearly the entire first half.
Even with Siakam’s dominant start, the game was tied going into the fourth. However, the former Most Improved Player got the Pacers to surge out to a nine-point lead shortly thereafter. It was his third 35+ point playoff game with Indiana and the most in a postseason game for the franchise since Paul George back in 2016.

Knicks vs. Pacers Best Bet: New York ML (+114 At DraftKings Sportsbook)
We noted that perhaps leaving Madison Square Garden could benefit the Knicks, and while that may seem strange to say for some fans, we truly believe that. The star power that comes out for games at MSG puts so much extra pressure on the Knicks, and they now won’t have that over their shoulder all game.
Sure, perhaps Pat McAfee will be at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, but the likes of Spike Lee and Ben Stiller won’t be courtside. Let’s also not forget that New York won the season series over Indiana, so it’s not as if they can’t take down Tyrese Haliburton and company.
Speaking of which, they held him in check in a big way in Game 2, and while he prefers to be a “true” point guard, he and the Pacers can’t rely on nearly 40 points from Pascal Siakam yet again. Given all the players we’re already noted, player props have been a great approach for us so far in this series, but for Game 3, we’re keeping things nice and basic.
Perhaps a Karl-Anthony Towns combo prop could be a great consideration, but we love the plus-money we’re getting here. Along with how the big man performs, we also expect untimely turnovers to be a major factor in the winner of Game 3, as it’s been a hindrance for New York that hasn’t gotten enough attention.
Just like they did on the road to close out Boston, we have Jalen Brunson and company coming up clutch, making the best bet from our Knicks vs. Pacers predictions on New York’s money line (+114 at DraftKings Sportsbook).
