NBA Best Bets Today, 10/27: Picks, Predictions & Player Props - Monday
The betting lines were a bit of a surprise yesterday. Jalen Duren earned 17 rebounds, crushing any hope for any under… even a teased one. Michael Porter got off the hook with a fourth-quarter rebound. Jarrett Allen recorded 10 rebounds before the fourth quarter. Brandon Ingram covered his prop, just getting over the 5.5 requirement. Close calls as the sportsbooks are dialed in early this season.
Today, there are 11 games, including two nationally televised on Peacock. There is a wager on one of those matches, but three other wagers come from elsewhere. Monday’s best bets are the last of the first week in the NBA. Let’s make it a profitable day with straight bets and player props.

NBA Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 10/27
Brooklyn Nets vs Houston Rockets Prediction: Monday 10/27
Game Time: 8:00 PM ET | TV: Local |Â Location: Toyota Center |Â Odds:Â Rockets -15.5 | O/U 225.5
The first best bet of the day focuses on the Houston Rockets hosting the Brooklyn Nets at the Toyota Center. Brooklyn is on a Midwest tour, first in Dallas and now in Houston. As it happens, they are playing in the second of back-to-back games as well. Brooklyn is 0 - 3 and last in the Eastern Conference. But those were the expectations for them.
The Rockets are not living up to their preseason expectations. They are 0 - 2, last in the Western Conference, and allowing an average of 120.0 points per game. It is going to take time for rhythm and good defense to come together. And impatience can cause wise people to do foolish things.
The Rockets have a good roster and scorers at multiple levels of the offense. They are averaging 117.5 points per game, and Kevin Durant is still an elite scorer. Can he carry a team to a championship? He has yet to prove he can. He can, however, carry his team to a blowout victory against the Nets, who allow 128.3 points per game. Put a unit on this best bet and expect Houston to cover the -15.5 spread.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Detroit Pistons Prediction: Monday, 10/27
Game Time: 7:00 PM ET |Â TV: Peacock |Â Location: Little Caesars Arena |Â Odds:Â CLE -2.5Â Â | O/U:Â 231.5
The first match in the nationally televised double-header is the Cleveland Cavaliers vs the Detroit Pistons. It is the match of the day, and there is only a -2.5 spread separating two teams that could represent the Eastern Conference in the Finals. The match is in Detroit, but the best bet is on Cleveland.
Both of these teams have complete rosters, and Detroit may have the best player on the court in Cade Cunningham. Cleveland does not have a gap in their starting rotation, and Evan Mobley is a special talent. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year is stuffing the stat sheet and playing over thirty minutes per game. He will make scoring in the front court difficult for the Pistons, which is their preference.
Lonzo Ball is playing admirably with per-game averages of 23 minutes, 6.3 assists, 5.3 points, and 4.0 rebounds. He has the ability to make his teammates better with his prolific passing and court vision. This division battle is must-see TV, and the expectation is for the Cavaliers to pull away in the fourth quarter. Put a unit on this best bet today

NBA Prop Bets Today, 10/27
Chet Holmgren is healthy and playing well. His minutes have not been reduced, and he played 38+ minutes in each of the Oklahoma City Thunder’s double overtime games. He is averaging 10.0 rebounds per game, and playing against the Dallas Mavericks, who allow the 20th most rebounds per game (47.0).
In the Thunder’s most recent game, Holmgren played 27 minutes and earned 11 rebounds. He is not dependent on overtime to get to a double-digit amount. Foul trouble is always an issue with Holmgren, but against Dallas, another double-double performance is within reach. However, this best bet only requires 9 rebounds to be successful.
Jonathan Kuminga is a forward for the Golden State Warriors and was somewhat of a question mark coming into the 2025 season. First, no one could say with confidence where he was going to play. Second, Head Coach Steve Kerr seemed displeased with Kuminga and used him sparingly last season. Third, he showed flashes of potential but lacked consistency. That made him a risky fantasy basketball acquisition and a person to monitor for betting.
In three games, he has shown consistency in production, and Kerr has put him on the floor for several minutes. He’s averaging over 31 minutes and 7.3 rebounds per game. Put a unit on this best bet against the Memphis Grizzlies playing their first road game this season.
