Celtics vs. Knicks Predictions, Picks & Odds: NBA on Prime, 10/24
To begin their season as the Eastern Conference favorites, the New York Knicks go from hosting the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Boston Celtics - their biggest competition. Well, perhaps only the former, given the Jayson Tatum torn Achilles. Even still, with the Prime Video doubleheader tipping off here, we’ve got our best Celtics vs. Knicks predictions for tonight.

Celtics vs. Knicks Predictions for NBA on Prime, 10/24
The beginning of the NBA season has already featured an NBA Finals rematch and other postseason rematches, and this is among them. That’s no surprise with these two teams, plus the Cavs as Eastern Conference favorites the past couple of seasons, but let’s not forget what the knock on the Knicks was last season.
That was their inability to not only beat the best teams like the Celtics, Cavs, and Oklahoma City Thunder, but also the fact that they couldn’t even keep things competitive. That said, they did take down Cleveland in their season opener, but it wasn’t super convincing, and the Cavs are without Darius Garland and Max Strus right now.
As for Boston, not a ton is expected from them while Jayson Tatum recovers, but they were in a thrilling back-and-forth 117-116 loss in their season opener. Even with all that in mind, the Celtics vs. Knicks odds heavily favor New York to take down Boston like they did in the second round of last year’s playoffs.
A Tatum-less Celtics squad would have us agreeing with that assessment, but such a significant point spread this early in the season is not something that we want to get involved with. Therefore, the best bet from our Celtics vs. Knicks predictions is focused elsewhere.Â

Celtics vs. Knicks Best Bet: Jaylen Brunson Over 27.5 Points (-119 at Fanatics)
For our Knicks picks back in their season opener, we originally had fans consider Josh Hart to go over his points + rebounds prop. After he was ruled out, we shared an editor’s note for OG Anunoby to do the same, and he soared over his closing line of 22.5 with 38 points + rebounds. While great, we’d prefer that not be needed for our Celtics vs. Knicks predictions.
Unfortunately, late injury news is all too commonplace in the NBA, and we’re going to operate as if Josh Hart and Mitch Robinson are out until we have 100% updates. Even if those guys do take the court, they’re going to be more beneficial for the team with their motor (Hart) and rebounding (Robinson).
That’s why we still fully expect Jalen Brunson to show out far more than he did at the Garden on Wednesday night. A 23-5-4 performance is far from awful, but it’s not a vintage Brunson beatdown. That’s what we got accustomed to in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, where he averaged over 26 points per game.
That average increased as time went on, as we saw Jalen Brunson average over 30 points per game in the Eastern Conference Finals. Unlike Boston, where it could often be pick-your-poison with Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum when healthy, Brunson is clearly the primary bucket-getter for New York.
With that in mind, we’ve got Jalen Brunson over 27.5 points (-119 at Fanatics) as the best bet from our Celtics vs. Knicks predictions for tonight.
