After a solid day yesterday by our very own James Grande, the board of MLB player props over at Underdog Fantasy looks quite fruitful yet again today. We are going to look to Detroit, but by way of exploiting the quick trigger, they seem to have with starter Beau Brieske. Texas will strike out a good bit, sure, but running up that pitch count and putting some runs on the board should get Briske out of action before six full innings. Then, we head to Boston with MVP candidate Rafael Devers, who has been one of the top fantasy baseball players this year. While these two MLB player props stand out above the rest, I have three other plays I’m pretty confident in, but we’ll classify them as “leans” for the moment. Here are my favorite MLB player props over at Underdog Fantasy for Thursday, June 16.

Beau Brieske UNDER 17.5 Pitching Outs

Texas has been about league average in terms of wOBA here in the month of June, but to their credit, over the last 30 days, they have the 13th-highest average and a top-10 BABIP against righties. However, this is even more about the line and how the Tigers deploy Brieske. He has been better at home than on the road, but in four starts at home this year, he has just an 11:7 K/BB ratio across 22.1 innings, and he’s surpassed this line just once at home this season. Regardless of being home or away, he’s completed six innings just twice all year. Detroit has shown to be rather quick with taking Brieske off the mound, as he’s thrown more than 90 pitches just four times all year, including three outings with under 85 total pitches.

Rafael Devers OVER 1.5 Total Bases

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it! Devers has homered in four straight games, and he’s notched at least two total bases in four of five games thus far against Oakland in 2022. Furthermore, Devers has a .337 average and 1.025 OPS versus right-handed pitching this year. Also, we love lefties against Paul Blackburn, so give me the over!
