MLB DFS 9/19 – Today’s slate is the same on DraftKings and FanDuel as they will both use a 7-game slate starting at 6:40 pm ET. Yahoo, on the other hand, has a bunch of different slates, but I took at peak at the 5-game slate that starts at 7:05 pm ET. We have some heavy hitters on the mound tonight, like Max Scherzer and Corbin Burnes, but we also have nice value plays like Edward Cabrera. We don’t have any mlb weather concerns on this slate, but make sure to check the weather center leading up to first pitch. Lastly, don’t forget to check out mlb implied runs totals using our Vegas Odds link and to use our mlb dfs lineup generator. Let’s dive into our mlb dfs picks today!

Pitchers

Edward Cabrera, Marlins (DraftKings - $7500)

Cabrera has shown flashes of utter dominance and his overall line is strong with a 2.70 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, and 63 strikeouts across 60 innings pitched. He faced the Cubs earlier this year and they couldn’t even get a hit against as he fired five shutout innings with eight strikeouts (and no hits if that wasn’t clear). Chicago ranks 23rd in runs per game this season and they’re averaging just two runs per game over their last three games.

Wade Miley, Cubs (DraftKings - $6600)

Miley has actually pitched very well this year in limited action as he has a 2.89 ERA and 23 Ks across 28 innings (six starts). In two starts since returning off IL he has scored 14.6 and 16.3 dk points while throwing 69 and 75 pitches. He should be good to go today for at least 85. Miami is a great matchup. The Marlins are 27th in runs per game this year and have the 7th highest strikeout rate.

Tyler Wells, Orioles (DraftKings - $6100 / Yahoo - $32)

Wells has quietly pitched well this year with a 3.93 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and .229 BAA. Today he gets a prime matchup against the Tigers. Detroit ranks dead last in scoring this season and they have the 4th highest strikeout rate in the league this season.

Hitters

Gunnar Henderson, Orioles (DraftKings - $3400)

Henderson has kicked off his career looking exactly like the top prospect that we all saw him as. He is hitting .328 with two home runs, a steal, and 19 R+RBI through his first 17 games. He is hitting .353 over his last 10 games with a home run, 11 RBI, and four doubles. He gets to face a bad pitcher in Alexander who has a 5.35 ERA and 1.38 WHIP through 77.1 innings this season. Alexander has been atrocious on the road with a 7.30 ERA, 1.68 WHIP, and .329 BAA across 37 innings.

Joc Pederson, Giants (FanDuel - $2800)

Joc is one of the highest priced guys on DraftKings and Yahoo, but we get him super cheap on FanDuel for some reason. He is having a strong season, hitting .264 with 22 home runs and 63 RBI across 337 at-bats. Tonight he gets a game at Coors Field against a righty and it’s hard to beat him at this price on FD. Kuhl has a 5.33 ERA and 1.50 WHIP this season across 24 starts. Joc is slashing .269/.348/.527 against righties this season with 20 of his 22 home runs, compared to .213/.296/.383 against lefties.

Charlie Blackmon, Rockies (FanDuel - $3000 / Yahoo - $10)

Blackmon is incredibly cheap on Yahoo and a solid price on FD, compared to DK where he is very expensive. Over his last two games he has gone 3-8 with a triple, a RBI, a steal, and two runs scored. He is slashing .281/.333/.454 at home this season with 80 R+RBI across 63 games, compared to .237/.285/.373 on the road with 54 R+RBI across 64 games on the road.

Other Potential Value Plays

Michael Toglia, Rockies (DraftKings - $3300 / FanDuel - $2600 / Yahoo - $12)

Jeremy Peña, Astros (FanDuel - $2500)
