Good morning, #FAmily! Happy Monday and no better way to start your week than with some Major League Baseball and MLB DFS lineups! Today’s MLB daily fantasy slate starts at 6:40p ET on DraftKings and FanDuel, and 6:10p ET on Yahoo Fantasy. The MLB weather report calls for some rain in New York so make sure to check our MLB Weather Center before lock. We also have MLB Lineups, MLB Vegas Odds, MLB daily projections, and an MLB DFS lineup builder in our Fantasy Alarm MLB Tools page. To get the big arms and bats in your lineups you will need to find some value plays and that’s where we come in. I have spent the morning researching and coming up with the best point per dollar plays on the slate. So, let’s get right into it and open Monday’s MLB DFS Value Vault.

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

Alex Cobb (SFG) – $8.0K DK/$9.0K FD/$34 Yahoo

Alex Cobb struggled in his last start, but it was against the mighty Dodgers as he allowed three runs on seven hits and three walks over 4.1 innings. He gave up a home run to Justin Turner, but it was only the fourth home run allowed by Cobb in 80.2 innings during his last 14 starts. Tonight, he faces the Braves at home in pitcher friendly Oracle Park where he has been a much better pitcher – a 2.57 ERA and 1.11 WHIP over 70 innings at home compared to a 5.16 ERA and 1.53 WHIP over 52.1 innings on the road. Cobb ranks sixth in the Majors in groundball rate and is averaging 9.3 strikeouts per nine while limiting walks and homers. His 2.85 FIP ranks ninth in the Majors, ahead of teammate Logan Webb, NL Cy Young frontrunner Sandy Alcantara and NL ERA leader Tony Gonsolin, among others. The Braves have one of the better offenses in the game but are striking out at a 27.8% clip with a .315 team wOBA against righties over the last 15 days. Due to matchup Cobb is probably not cash worthy but worth a risk in tournaments on all sites.

Mike Minor (CIN) – $7.3K DK/$7.6K FD/$31 Yahoo

Pitching value is weak tonight but Mike Minor is in play due to his matchup against the Pirates, one of the worst offenses in baseball. He has picked up the victory in three of his last four starts and faces a lineup that strikes out at a 28.2% rate with a low .292wOBA against left-handed pitching. Minor also has allowed only two runs or less in each of his past three starts and can give you 100 pitches, but he has a floor of about 15 DK fantasy points and I wouldn’t expect much more than that in a hitter friendly ballpark like Great American. This is a tournament only play if mass entering lineups.

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Jake Fraley (CIN) – $3.0K DK/$2.7K FD

Jake Fraley is smashing in September- he has a slash of .296/.406/.704 with an elite 1.110 OPS and over his last 20 games he has a .292 ISO/.409wOBA with a 157.2wRC+. Tonight, he faces a bad right-handed pitcher in Bryse Wilson with the platoon advantage. On the platoon split Fraley has a .265 ISO/.378wOBA with 42% hard contact and is slashing .273/.366/.538 with a .904 OPS plus 9 of his 10 home runs. Wilson has an xFIP of 5.04 and is allowing 46.0% hard contract plus is getting raked by left-handed bats to the tune of a .265 ISO/.404wOBA. Fraley is my favorite value play of the slate.

TJ Friedl (CIN) – $2.8K DK/$3.0K FD

Let’s keep picking on Wilson. As mentioned above Bryse Wilson is not a very good pitcher and is even worse against left-handed bats as he allows a .265 ISO/.404wOBA. He has given up three or more earned runs five straight and seven of his last nine starts (4.50 ERA/4.93 xFIP). TJ Friedl, who has been hitting leadoff, has hits in 10 of his last 14 games and seven of those are multi-hit. Over his last 20 games he has a .324 average with 6 HR/14 RBI and a .382 ISO/.434wOBA with a 174.1wRC+. Fraley and Friedl are both viable in all formats tonight.

Josh Jung (TEX) – $2.0 DK

Josh Jung is only available on DK and is worth a shot at minimum price. The Rangers 2019 first-round pick hit a bomb in his first ever major league game and has hits in two of his three games played. Tonight, he faces another top prospect in lefty Braxton Garrett of the Marlins who has been good but also has seen his share of growing pains. In Triple-A Round Rock Jung crushed left-handed pitching to the tune of a .304/.360/.860 slash and an elite 1.186 OPS. You could do a lot worse than this young stud at $2.0K, especially in a pay up pitching night like tonight.
