While we do have some matinee baseball action today, there is no questioning the MLB DFS main slate as we have a plentiful nine-game offering. There are options a plenty to consider, along with the elephant in the room that is a Coors Field game. While it is important to stay up to date with all of the MLB Weather, the situation in Atlanta tonight is one I will be paying close attention to. Leading up to lineup lock, be sure to monitor all of the latest MLB News and MLB Lineups while searching for the best MLB DFS value picks.

DFS Value Pitchers

Ian Anderson (ATL); DraftKings - $6,900; FanDuel - $8,500; Yahoo - $28

We never said this territory of starting pitcher was going to be easy or risk free, and there are some weather concerns at least early in the day in Atlanta but it should clear to get the game in, Anderson is still an intriguing option. The hope and thought process here is that everything that took place in his last start, seven runs on eight hits and three walks, is ancient history. Instead, I would like to focus on the three prior starts in which Anderson picked up between 14 and 19 DK points. Despite his struggles this year, Anderson still has eight victories which also reflects strongly on Atlanta, and tonight we get the Braves in a game at home against Arizona in which they are favored in a good matchup. Anderson’s xERA of 4.41 is about a run lower than his 5.31 ERA so that helps, and he does strikeout 7.67 batters per nine innings so we can pick up some points there as well.

Jakob Junis (SF); DraftKings - $7,700; FanDuel - $8,600; Yahoo - $39

After missing about a month with a hamstring strain, the Giants eased Junis back into action and he threw just 62 pitches over 4.1 innings in his last start. Junis only allowed one run on three hits and a walk so performance was not an issue and I would expect the workload to increase tonight in a good matchup at home against the Cubs. Through 54.1 innings so far this season, Junis has found success (who doesn’t?) in San Francisco with a 2.98 ERA and 1.01 WHIP while limiting the walks to under two per nine innings.

DFS Value Hitters

Hanser Alberto, 2B/3B (LAD); DraftKings - $2,500; FanDuel - $2,500; Yahoo - $11

Let’s just start off strong off the gate and head right into Coors Field. Alberto and his right-handed bat figure to be in the lineup against the southpaw Kyle Freeland tonight, and it should not be surprising to anyone that the Dodgers are expected to have another prolific offensive evening. The veteran infielder is clearly stronger with the platoon advantage as he is hitting .273 in 66 at bats against southpaws with eight runs scored and seven RBI. This is more of a bet on Coors Field and the Dodgers than Alberto himself, but it is hard to argue with both the situation and the price tonight.

Brendan Donovan, 3B/OF (STL); DraftKings - $3,100; FanDuel - $2,500; Yahoo - $9

The eligibility for Donovan is all over the map tonight, and while that is helpful when building a lineup, what I am really interested in is his left-handed bat in the middle of the Cardinals’ lineup against Erick Fedde. Through 74 games this season, Donovan is hitting .281 with two home runs, 30 RBI, and 31 runs scored as he has emerged as a solid contributor for the Cardinals. Against southpaws, Donovan’s average jumps up to .308 and that is what we are after tonight.

Yadiel Hernandez, OF (WAS); DraftKings - $2,000; FanDuel - $2,200; Yahoo - $12

The outfielder owns a modest four-game hitting streak, and we get the middle of the order hitter for Washington at near or close to minimum price tonight. It is a solid matchup for Hernandez and the Nationals against Dakota Hudson tonight and all seven of his home runs this season have come with the platoon advantage as he owns right-handers. In 77 games this season, Hernandez has a solid .270 batting average with 35 RBI and the price helps him fit into all lineups.

Alex Bregman, 3B (HOU); DraftKings - $4,400; FanDuel - $2,800; Yahoo - $17

While we have seen some upward movement on Bregman’s DK salary as of late, I would still opine that we are getting a bargain and that certainly is the case on FD and Yahoo. Bregman appears to finally be healthy and the third baseman is rounding into form while hitting .275 with two home runs and nine RBI in his last ten games. He is still batting just .248 on the season, but things are moving in the right direction for Bregman and we should take advantage of the discount. With 13 home runs and 55 RBI on the season, while he is behind pace, Bregman can still be counted as a run producer.
