Tonight’s MLB DFS slate is consistent across the board as DraftKings, Yahoo, and FanDuel will all have a 13-game main starting at 7:05 pm ET. This slate has some solid value options for daily fantasy baseball lineups with some hitters who are swinging hot bats, like Esteury Ruiz and Josh Lowe. On the pitching side, we have a decent play in Zach Plesac and another arm that has higher upside for MLB daily fantasy lineups. Another positive is that it appears that we have no serious MLB weather report concerns to worry about, but still keep up with our MLB weather center leading up to first pitch. Plus, keep an eye on the confirmed MLB lineups and the MLB daily projections when building MLB DFS lineups. Lastly, don’t forget to check out MLB implied runs totals using our Vegas Odds link and our MLB DFS lineup generator. Let’s dive into our MLB DFS top picks in the value range for Friday, July 15th.

MLB DFS Pitchers

Zach Plesac, Guardians (DraftKings - $7200 / Yahoo - $36)

Plesac has been pitching well lately with a 3.59 ERA and 1.20 WHIP over his last 10 games, averaging 13.4 DK ppg in that span. He has been a much better pitcher at home this year with a 2.85 ERA, compared to a 4.93 ERA on the road. He faced Detroit earlier this season and fired six innings of two-run ball while striking out three. The Tigers rank dead last in runs per game this season and have the 7th highest strikeout rate in the league.

Hunter Greene, Reds (DraftKings - $7500 / FanDuel - $7900 / Yahoo - $32

Greene is coming off an electric game in which he scored 25.3 DK points, pitching six innings of one-run ball while striking out nine. He has been slightly better on the road than at home with a 5.61 ERA and 1.29 WHIP (Averaging 15 DK ppg), compared to a 5.79 ERA and 1.38 WHIP (Averaging 13.6 DK ppg) at home. The Cardinals are 13th in runs per game this season, so not a great matchup, but not terrible either. They have a lower wOBA against righties and strikeout at a slightly higher rate against them too.

MLB DFS Hitters

Esteury Ruiz, Padres (DraftKings - $2000 / FanDuel - $2200)

Ruiz has been very impressive through his first three games in the bigs, going 4-12 with a double, triple, a steal, RBI, and run scored, scoring 8, 8, and 12 DK points. He provides plenty of speed upside and should really not be the minimum price. He gets to face Bumgarner who has been worse on the road, pitching to a 4.38 ERA and 1.38 WHIP, compared to a 3.15 ERA and 1.33 WHIP at home. Righties have accounted for 11 of 13 home runs that Bumgarner has given up and all eight steals.

Josh Lowe, Rays (DraftKings - $2300 / FanDuel - $2300 / Yahoo - $9)

I had Lowe in here yesterday and said “Lowe has started producing at a higher level lately with a home run and 11 R+RBI over his last 10 games. He has scored at least 6 DK points in four straight games too.. Lowe has done all of his damage against righties this year, slashing .210/.259/.371 against righties with two home runs, nine other extra-base hits, and two steals, compared to .100/.126/.100 against lefties (34 PA) with ZERO extra base-hits and zero steals.” He proceeded to double, score a run, and drive in a run to finish with 9 points and continue his recent uptick in production. I like him once again today in this spot against Wells.

Jake Meyers, Astros (DraftKings - $2700 / FanDuel - $2900 / Yahoo - $12)

This is the exact spot that I like to use Meyers, at home against a lefty. For his career, he has a .297/.333/.506 slash line at home, compared to .235/.307/.365 on the road. He also has a .297/.325/.514 slash against lefties, compared to a .242/.315/.379 slash against righties. On top of all that, Irvin has been a completely different pitcher on the road this year (for the worse), pitching to a 5.27 ERA and 1.32 WHIP away from Oakland, compared to a 1.68 ERA and 0.97 WHIP at home.

Nolan Jones, Guardians (DraftKings - $2000)

Jones had a hot first couple of games in the bigs, but he has cooled off a bit since then. However, he’s still slashing .333/.481/.571 with a home run and eight RBI through his first eight games with the Guardians. Today he gets to face a terrible righty in Hutchinson, who has a 4.08 ERA and 1.36 WHIP through his first 35.1 innings this season. At the minimum price on DK, I wouldn’t be surprised if Jones is a pretty popular play.
