Time for Sunday baseball! Today gives us an early main slate with a 10-game main slate on both FanDuel and DraftKings kicking off at 1:35 PM EST. Two of the best pitchers of this generation are taking the mound, with Jacob deGrom facing the Oakland Athletics and Clayton Kershaw taking on the Chicago Cubs. There are some great value pitchers lower priced in the slate that have great upside today as well. Some great offenses to target include the Toronto Blue Jays, Texas Rangers, and Minnesota Twins. Make sure to check out the MLB DFS playbook and be sure to check in with our MLB DFS Tools, with the daily MLB projections, MLB DFS Ownership projections, and our MLB DFS Lineup Generator. Let’s dive into some of my favorite MLB DFS value plays of the day!

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

Hunter Greene, Cincinnati Reds (DraftKings: $7,500 / FanDuel: $8,600)

I am a big fan of Hunter Greene whenever he doesn’t have to pitch at home. Cincinnati is too much of a pitcher’s park to really trust any of the Cincinnati pitchers there, but he gets to face the Pittsburgh Pirates in Pittsburgh today. Greene was removed from his last start after 3 innings after taking a ball off his shin, but he should be good to go today. The game before, he went 6 innings against the Braves with 10 strikeouts. Greene has great strike-out potential and even though the Pittsburgh lineup is better than the last couple of years, it still is one that Greene should be able to tear up today.

Grayson Rodriguez, Baltimore Orioles (DraftKings: $6,000 / FanDuel: $8,500)

Grayson Rodriguez has had flashes of looking great so far but hasn’t put together a dominant start yet. In his last game, he had a bad first inning when he gave up two homeruns but then settled in and ended up going 5 innings with 8 strikeouts against the Chicago White Sox. I think we see him get his first great outing today against the Detroit Tigers. I love the fact that he is already getting the strikeouts, and if he can suppress the hits a bit more, which should be very possible against Detroit, he could have a fantastic outing and is still extremely cheap.

Eduardo Rodriguez, Detroit Tigers (DraftKings: $6,400 / FanDuel: $8,100)

Eduardo Rodriguez just pitched 8 innings of shutout baseball where he struck out 10 Cleveland Guardians and is still incredibly cheap today. He is facing the Baltimore Orioles, who are a better offense than the Guardians, but I think Eduardo can put up a good start against them. I think Eduardo is a much better pitcher than we have seen over the last couple of years. He has dealt with a lot of injuries and personal things that have kept him off the mound, and I believe impacted him while pitching. Now that he seems to be back and healthy, I believe he can bounce back to the quality pitcher he has been in the past.

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Jonah Heim, C Texas Rangers (DraftKings: $3,700 / FanDuel: $3,500)

If you were interested in Jonah Heim at all yesterday, you should be doubling down today against a lefty in Kyle Muller. Jonah Heim has a career .268/.319/.488 slash line against left-handers. He is way too cheap for this matchup and should probably be one of the top catchers whenever he is facing a left-hander. Heim has been red hot lately, with 3 extra-base hits, 8 RBIs, and 4 runs in the last 3 games.

Josh Jung, 3B Texas Rangers (DraftKings: $4,000 / FanDuel: $3,300)

I am going with another Ranger on a hot streak at third base. Josh Jung is on a 10-game hit streak and has been locked in at the plate lately. So far in his career, almost all his damage is coming against lefties, with a .917 OPS against them. I think that will continue today as the Rangers should put up a fair number of runs against the Oakland Athletics today. Jung and Heim have been hitting back-to-back in the 5 and 6 spots of the lineup as well, so these two value plays are a great stacking opportunity.

Carlos Correa, SS Minnesota Twins (DraftKings: $4,600 / FanDuel: $2,900)

Carlos Correa has been in a bit of a slump recently, but this is keeping his price low. He had a three-hit game yesterday, and today gets to face Patrick Corbin. I am happily putting almost anyone in my lineup who gets to face Patrick Corbin these days, but especially someone who is as good of a hitter as Carlos Correa. He isn’t the cheapest of value plays, but I think he is still a value play, given he is one of the best hitters of the past decade and isn’t one of the highest-priced shortstops.

James Outman, OF Los Angeles Dodgers (DraftKings: $4,200 / FanDuel: $3,400)

For the past couple of days, it has been James Outman’s world, and we are just living in it. He has 2 multi-homer games in the last three days. I wish he got to keep the leadoff spot for the Los Angeles Dodgers, but even down in the 6-hole, he has value. He has been tearing the cover off the ball this year with 7 homeruns already and is slashing .314/.407/.714 and has shown no signs of slowing down. Even against Marcus Stroman, who has been pitching brilliantly so far, I am willing to ride the hot streak that Outman is on.
