It’s another Friday night of Major League Baseball with plenty of Underdog Fantasy MLB player props to dive into. There are over three full months of MLB stats and data to pore through, and that just means more confidence as we check out the MLB props board at Underdog. First, we have some big bats on the slate tonight led by red-hot Austin Riley and Yordan Alvarez. Both sluggers are having career years and are in elite matchups for MLB DFS lineups tonight. Then we look at two veteran pitchers in Zack Wheeler and Charlie Morton, who are both in plus matchups against weak offenses and should also be popular in daily fantasy baseball lineups. Before locking in MLB player props or MLB daily fantasy lineups, check out our MLB Weather Center for the latest MLB weather report updates and to make sure that all games will be dry. To get all the confirmed starting lineups, be sure to go to the MLB Lineups page. We also have an MLB DFS Lineup Generator and MLB daily projections to use for your fantasy baseball lineups. Now let’s take a look at my four favorite MLB player props on Underdog Fantasy for Friday, July 8th baseball action.

MLB Player Props Underdog Fantasy July 8

Yordan AlvarezOVER 1.5 Total Bases

Alvarez is making a run at AL MVP this season and will not slow down. He is hitting .310 on the season with 26 HR and 59 RBI. Over his last 20 games, the Astros' slugger has a .338 average with nine HR, 20 RBI, .456 ISO, and .501 wOBA. He destroys right-handed pitching to the tune of a .421 wOBA and .476 ISO to go along with 52% hard contact. Meanwhile, A’s starter Paul Blackburn is allowing a .401 wOBA to left-handed hitters. The kicker is that Alvarez has three bombs in 10 at-bats against Blackburn as well.

Austin RileyOVER 1.5 Total Bases

Riley has always been an excellent reverse-splits hitter. Over the last 150 games, he has a .295 average on the split with 27 HR, 80 RBI, .239 ISO, and .369 wOBA. Riley has a 47% hard contact rate against right-handers this season and will face Erick Fedde of the Nationals tonight. Riley has had success against Fedde, going 7-for-18 with two doubles off him in his career. The Atlanta slugger is also hitting .356 over his last 20 games with five HR and 16 RBI to go along with a .301 ISO, .440 wOBA, and 177.7wRC+. Take the over 1.5 total bases here.

Zack WheelerOVER 6.0 Strikeouts

Wheeler has thrown for a quality start in 10 of his last 12 appearances. St. Louis is no pushover, but he did face this lineup just five days ago and threw seven innings of shutout baseball while striking out five. Over the last two weeks, the Cards are striking out at a 24.7% clip to right-handed pitching – 26th in all of baseball. Wheeler can pile up strikeouts in a hurry and has gone over this prop in 12 of his 15 starts this season.

Charlie MortonOVER 6.5 Strikeouts

Since the start of June, Morton has been lights out. Over his last 37 innings, the Braves' veteran has a 2.87 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and a 37.2% strikeout rate. He also is striking out 13 batters per nine innings and is holding an amazing 2.09 SIERA. Morton is coming off a 10-strikeout game against the Reds and has hit the over on this prop in five of his last six starts.
