Who's ready for another night of MLB player props over at Underdog Fantasy?! I typically love pitcher strikeout props, but my favorite MLB daily picks at Underdog for Monday, August 1st involve two of the league’s biggest sluggers. Patrick Corbin is on the mound for the Washington Nationals so, of course, we are looking to the Polar Bear, Pete Alonso, against the struggling southpaw. Alonso has impressive batter vs. pitcher numbers against Corbin, but Yordan Alvarez’s MLB BvP stats vs. Boston’s Nathan Eovaldi are equally as impressive. Only two picks today, so we are just looking to 3x our money with my top MLB picks for this evening. Both hitters should be MLB DFS top plays tonight as well if you're playing daily fantasy baseball lineups. Before locking in any MLB props or MLB daily fantasy lineups, be sure to check out the latest MLB weather report, the confirmed MLB lineups, and our MLB daily projections for tonight's games. Without further ado, let’s dive into my top MLB player props over on Underdog Fantasy for August 1.

MLB Player Props Underdog Fantasy August 1

Pete AlonsoOVER 1.5 Total Bases

It’s Patrick Corbin day, which is good news for Alonso and the Mets as a whole – but mostly Alonso! The New York Mets slugger is 12-for-33 with four home runs against Corbin for his career and this year in particular, he’s 2-for-3 with four walks against the Nationals' starter – good for a 1.524 OPS. If we look just at 2021 and 2022, he’s 6-for-10 with three home runs and six walks against Corbin. Alonso is hitting .423 over his last seven games, and has an .853 OPS against southpaws in 2022. Meanwhile, Corbin has a 7.99 ERA and has served up a .324 average, .521 slugging percentage, .898 OPS, and .387 wOBA to right-handed hitters.

Yordan AlvarezOVER 1.5 Total Bases

If you think Alonso’s BvP stats above are good, wait until you see these numbers. Alvarez is 7-for-8 with a home run against Nathan Eovaldi in his career, good for an .875 batting average and .900 wOBA. Over the last seven games, Alvarez is hitting .348 with a .696 slugging percentage, and he’s sporting a .333 average and 1.173 OPS against righties in 2022. The American League MVP candidate has at least one extra-base hit in four of his last six games and now gets to face a guy who has served up a 1.99 HR/9 mark on the year. Furthermore, Eovaldi has an 11.08 ERA here in July, allowing 23 hits in just 13 innings of work. Eovaldi’s home/road splits point to him being better on the road this year than at home, but a closer look at the matchups tell a different story. Outside of some starts against the Yankees, Braves, and Blue Jays, he’s benefited from facing the strikeout-prone Angels, the subpar April version of Baltimore, and the porous Athletics and Tigers. Alvarez’s dominance against righties and Eovaldi is too prevalent to ignore tonight.
