Corey Seager MLB Underdog Fantasy Pick: Higher Than 1.5 Total Bases

Since returning from the IL, Seager has hit safely in three-straight games with one multi-hit performance and one double, pushing him over this total bases mark in each of the last two. His HRR is sitting at 2.5, and while that’s not an unattainable prop, I like putting it all in his hands as opposed to seeing what the rest of the lineup is doing against Tanner Houc,k whose velocity has returned over his last two starts, so we’ll stick to the total bases here.

Houck is still allowing lefthanded hitters to post a .442 wOBA against him, and six of the seven home runs he’s allowed this year have come from the left side of the plate. Seager’s current .349 wOBA against righties stands out nicely here, and the idea of Brett Boone taking over as the Rangers' new hitting coach makes me want to invest.

Freddie Freeman MLB Underdog Fantasy Pick: Higher Than 1.5 Total Bases

Another player with juiced-up HRR numbers and a soft match-up, Freeman is going to be someone we definitely want to look at today. The Marlins are throwing inexperienced righthander Valente Bellozo, a guy who pitches to a ton of contact, walks too many batters, and has underlying metrics that actually make his 4.97 ERA look good. He’s allowing lefthanded hitters to post a .510 wOBA against him, which means we’re investing.

Freeman is already slashing .344/.423/.689 on the season and currently riding an 11-game hit streak in which he has seven multi-hit performances. He’s also sitting on a massive .521 wOBA with a .403 ISO against righties this season. Seems like a no-brainer for the day.

Chase Dollander MLB Underdog Fantasy Pick: Higher Than 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed

The rookie has had quite the up-and-down start to his big league career, and even though the Rockies' Triple-A affiliate is in Colorado Springs, he is still learning the harsh lessons of pitching in Coors Field. He allowed 10 earned runs over his first two home starts, and while he limited the Braves to just one run over 5.2 innings over his last start there, he left with a split nai,l and that brings on a whole other group of questions about grip and his ability to dominate hitters.

The Tigers are 4-1 over the last five games on this road trip, and they’ve averaged just over eight runs pr game during that span. Now they’re in Colorado? Detroit hitters are posting a .330 wOBA against right-handed pitching this season, with guys like Riley Greene, Spencer Torkelson, and Kerry Carpenter posting some outstanding numbers against them. With Tuesday’s rainout, they’re eager to get back in the box for this one.
