Fantasy Baseball 2026 Two-Start Pitchers & Streaming Starters - 8/8

The trade deadline has come and gone, with a number of aces and other pitchers now wearing different uniforms. There are plenty of Fantasy Baseball 2026 Two-Start Pitchers to consider inserting into your rotations here in Week 20 of the fantasy baseball season. Hopefully, you have one or more of those in the upper tier to take advantage of their dual-start status. Make sure to take a gander at those profiled in the middle group as well, as these arms could aid your efforts to improve your fantasy pitching stats going forward.

For a change, the bottom tier of dual-start SPs is somewhat bereft of denizens. As always, these are those pitchers you are urged to stay away from inserting in your rotations. If you are tempted by their two-start status, look instead to those Fantasy Baseball 2026 Streaming Starter options profiled below in the second part of this week’s report. Those arms are more likely to aid your efforts to take the title in your fantasy baseball leagues.

Please realize that these articles feature the most recent rotation information available at the time they are written, but circumstances can change due to weather conditions, injuries, and general craziness with managers. If a pitcher listed here as having two starts ends up with one (or perhaps none) in the upcoming week, apologies, but this article is meant to provide analysis; it is up to the manager to set the lineups or rotations.

Without further ado, here are this week’s two-start pitchers:

This group of 18 SPs are those you should be grateful to have available in Week 20 to run out for a pair of trips to toe the rubber for their respective teams…and your fantasy squads should you have one or more of these aces at your service. Plug them in and do not concern yourself with what team they are facing or where they are stepping on the slab.

Cameron, the 27-year-old southpaw, has been spectacular during the course of his last two outings, racking up a pair of quality starts (QS) although he has been tough-lucked with no-decisions in both those contests. Both of his excellent trips to the mound were road games, and he has two more games away from Kaufmann Stadium on tap in Week 20. His home/road splits demonstrate a season-long tendency to find greater success on the road when pitching, so do not miss out on the fortunate scheduling the youngster has this particular scoring period.

Dobbins, the second-year right-hander who was recalled from Triple-A to be the sixth member of the Cardinals’ starting rotation, pitched well against the host Yankees, picking up his second QS of the season while holding the opposition to just two earned tallies over 6.1 IP. He was saddled with the loss, and he did not flash his normally good strikeout skills (8.1 K/9 over his limited 40.0 IP this season). His home/road splits are fairly even, so a home start followed by a game in Wrigley Field, while not ideal matchups, are also not reasons to avoid employing his services if you need to add another SP for innings or some counting numbers.

Lopez’s last three times on the hill have resulted in some spectacular ratio numbers, namely, a 1.84 ERA and 1.23 WHIP with an 11.0 K/9 rate over those 14.2 IP. His season-long numbers are not looking so attractive, nor are his home/road splits indicative of two home starts being a positive factor, but two of those recent effective games he pitched were at home. 

Peralta gets to face the SP profiled above on the road in Sacramento, his second start since being shipped off by the Mets. He has struggled this season with New York to find any consistency while dealing from the hill, alternating useful starts with horrific outings. Best case scenario for the Monday contest is both pitchers toss QS against one another; given the hitter-friendly venue, maybe not what any fantasy owners should depend on if using either of these opposing hurlers.

Quantrill has pitched well since joining the Texas rotation in June, posting a respectable 3.51 ERA and 1.14 WHIP over his last 33.1 IP. He racked up his second QS of the season despite taking a loss to the visiting Giants. He is a below-average strikeout producer who has above-average control (6.0 K/9, 2.0 BB/9 over this combined relief and starting 64.2 IP on the season). He is on the road for both his Week 20 starts, but has fared slightly better when away from his home park this season.

As noted in the opening paragraphs above, there are not the usual multitude of arms to avoid plugging into your rotations this week. Despite having a pair of trips to toe the rubber in Week 20, the potential ratio damage these hurlers could impose on your fantasy stat lines is not worth the minimal counting stat accumulation you might receive. Potential Streaming Options for Week 20

There is no promise that each game day will provide a streaming option. First of all, the pitcher must be available in at least 50% of leagues to be a viable candidate to snag off the wire. Then, the pitchers discussed above are not included as they have a different sort of value, even though some might be available as free agents in your league. Plus, some days the matchups and/or venues just do not figure as positive enough factors to favor plugging the arm into your rotation, even for one start. Tomoyuki Sugano Colorado Rockies @ Arizona Diamondbacks

The 36-year-old right-hander had been on quite the win streak, going 7-0 with one no-decision prior to taking the loss against the visiting Rays in his last trip to the mound. He has six QS to his credit this season as well as the 11 wins, although his ratios are not pristine: 4.51 ERA and 1.26 WHIP over his 107.2 IP in 2026. He has good control as reflected in his reasonable WHIP, but is a well-below-average K producer with a paltry 5.1 K/9 rate. His road numbers are not great but are primarily the result of a couple of bad outings, and he did collect one of his QS against the Diamondbacks in Phoenix earlier this year.

Martin Perez Atlanta Braves vs New York Mets

The veteran southpaw appears poised to step into the Braves’ rotation full time, with Reynaldo Lopez apparently heading to the IL. Perez one-hit the Nationals when he stepped in to take over for Lopez, who suffered a knee injury while warming up, picking up the win. He sports an attractive 3.24 ERA and 1.17 WHIP acquired over his 97.1 IP to date this season. A home contest against the last-place Mets is a fine matchup to employ his services as a streamer, and perhaps a fine time to add him to your roster for more than just a single start in Week 20.

Kyle Leahy St. Louis Cardinals vs Philadelphia Phillies

The fourth-year righty has now put up six QS on the year, his last three trips to the mound being a consecutive set of three of those outings, although he is also working on a string of four no-decisions in a row. He carries a useful 3.44 ERA with him on the season, and a somewhat bloated 1.33 WHIP due to an inflated walk rate (2.9 BB/9 over 107.1 IP this season. He has demonstrated a preference to pitch at Busch Stadium, so this is a good matchup despite the opponent.

David Peterson Chicago Cubs @ Washington Nationals

In five of his six starts for the Cubs since being acquired via trade at the end of June, he has allowed two or fewer runs. There was the 10-run debacle against the Cardinals, but aside from that misstep, the veteran southpaw has been highly effective when toeing the rubber for his new team. He is below average when it comes to missing bats (7.6 K/9 this year) but has pitched better on the road this season overall and held the Nationals to just a single earned tally earlier this season at Nationals Park.

Janson Junk Miami Marlins vs Pittsburgh Pirates

If his one poor start against the host Houston Astros is removed from his last five trips to the hill, he has posted a stellar 1.37 ERA; the flip side is even without that worst outing, his WHIP would still be unattractive at 1.37 as well due to his propensity to allow safeties to the opposing hitters: 26 hits over the 23.2 IP. He does get to take the mound at home, which plays to his strength as referenced by his home/road splits in 2026.

Tyler Phillips Miami Marlins vs Pittsburgh Pirates

A second Marlin SP as a streaming option, Phillips has gone five consecutive contests without allowing more than two earned runs to the opposition, compiling a 3.54 ERA over those 20.1 IP, with an acceptable 1.28 WHIP. Not a ton of Ks, but efficient control, as evidenced by his 14:6 K/BB ratio. He gets the same last-place team as an opponent as Junk, and his results when dealing from the mound in LoanDepot Park have been gaudy, so this is the steaming option to employ on a day with little in the way of low percentage-owned SPs to select from.

Kumar Rocker Texas Rangers @ Sacramento Athletics

The third-year right-hander has been on a successful stretch run, posting a useful if not stellar 3.92 ERA over his last seven appearances with a more impressive 1.21 WHIP over those 39.0 IP. One of his best selling points is his ability to miss bats, which he has cranked up recently to a stellar 9.7 K/9 rate; he is also demonstrating better control with a 2.3 BB/9 during that seven-contest run. This is a good matchup, given the A’s struggles at home, and it plays to Rocker’s road warrior strengths.

Anthony Kay Chicago White Sox @ Detroit Tigers

The veteran southpaw is coming off a strong effort where he shut out the host Rays on seven hits and one free pass for 6.1 innings to pick up the victory and a QS. Although his record of 2-3 does not reflect it properly, he has been dealing over his last 39.2 IP, amassing a tasty 2.95 ERA and 1.21 WHIP. He has had some issues pitching on the road this year, but not of late, so despite taking on a tough division opponent at Comerica Park, this profiles as a potentially positive streaming opportunity.

Robert Gasser Milwaukee Brewers @ Los Angeles Dodgers

The third-year lefty has had a nice three-game run, albeit against lesser opponents (Marlins, Rockies, Angels), racking up a 2.25 ERA and 0.88 WHIP through his last 16.0 IP. This matchup is not necessarily an ideal game, on the road against the reigning World Champs. He does offer good K potential (8.4 K/9 over his 62.1 IP) and good control (2.3 BB/9), plus his team plays well when away from American Family Field.

Patrick Sandoval Boston Red Sox @ Pittsburgh Pirates

The veteran southpaw picked up his first win as a member of the Red Sox, holding the visiting Pale Hose team to two earned runs over 5.0 IP. He offers above-average K potential (9.4 K/9 over his limited 24.0 IP thus far this season). His control is an issue, with his 3.8 BB/9 rate a problem brewing for the SP. Taking on the Pirates, even on the road, is a positive in this contest.

Grant Holmes Atlanta Braves vs Arizona Diamondbacks

The third-year righty has been a steady if not overly impressive performer on the mound for the Braves this season, posting a 3.67 ERA (nice) and 1.34 WHIP (not so nice) over his 108.0 IP this season. Below-average strikeout production (7.7 K/9) and shaky control (3.8 BB/9) relegates him to a streamer to be used then the venue and opponent matchup, as they do here-a home game against sub-.500 team on the road.

Sean Manaea New York Mets vs Washington Nationals

The veteran southpaw has now tossed three consecutive QS, going 6.0 IP in each contest. He has been striking out nearly a batter per frame this season (8.8 K/9 through his 97.2 IP combined as a starter and reliever), but the control could be better (3.2 BB/9). Note that the opponent here has been much tougher to face when they are playing away from their home park.

Randy Dobnak Kansas City Royals @ Los Angeles Angels 

The 31-year-old right-hander has been demonstrating some seriously effective stuff on the hill, posting a superior 1.16 ERA and 1.19 WHIP, which have been accumulated over an admittedly limited six appearances (four starts) and 31.0 IP. He has handed out 13 free passes over that small sample size, so there are issues to be addressed going forward, to be certain, but this is not a bad matchup, despite his team's serious sub-.500 performance on the road.

Randy Vasquez San Diego Padres @ Cleveland Guardians

The 27-year-old righty has secured a rotation spot with the Padres for the nonce, at least while Nick Pivetta and Joe Musgrove are sidelined with their injuries. He has pitched shutout baseball in his last two times toeing the rubber. Those 10.2 IP have seen only two Ks, so there is that downside to his production as a fantasy baseball asset. He does pitch better on the road, so this contest plays to his plus side of the ledger.
