Over the past few years during the NFL season, Ted Schuster and I have been doing a segment on the SiriusXM radio show called “Right, Wrong or Indifferent.” Basically what this means is a scorecard for all of the predictions, rankings and recommendations we gave out during the previous week for fantasy football.
I feel very strongly about users (readers, listeners, customers, etc) holding fantasy analysts responsible for the information and advice they pass along. To be honest, its way too easy for us to disguise our analysis on a week in and week out basis because there are thousands of excuses to be made. After all, we aren’t the ones playing the game, right? Well, nah, eff that. We need to be held accountable. If we aren’t then its too easy to become soft and not pay as much attention or not watch the games that we are trying to make sense out of. You guys deserve better.
Thus, I will be putting our radio segment down on paper and posting it right here each week on the Fantasy Alarm site. I encourage you to help be hold myself (and Ted!) accountable for the information that we provide. Now be careful here because if you are going to try and come at me with blame for something I didn’t say or take my thoughts out of context than I reserve the right to fire back at you. And you had better believe that I will. Just stick to the actual things that I say and we should have no problems.
This is a good spot to post your submissions for our Haterade segment on the SiriusXM show as well. Just light me on fire in the most negative way possible in the comments section, on the Fantasy Alarm Forums or on Twitter (@Jeff_Mans).
Here is my Right, Wrong & Indifferent for Week 11:
RIGHT
Not. A. God. Damn. Thing.
I’m going to forgo the regular player by player breakdown this week because it’s not going to do either of us much good. The bottom line this week is that like most weeks, I got a lot of stuff right and a lot of stuff wrong. There is nothing different in terms of number of players on either side of the line.
But this week I went out on a limb on a few players that I declared were absolutely going to light it up in week 11 and almost every single one of those players failed. I’ve been writing this article during NFL season for the past three seasons and during that time I have made plenty of bold predictions and difficult choices. As you guys know, I don’t shy away from tough decisions and am not afraid of making a wrong call on a player or matchup. Seldom does everything I say in a given week go exactly according to plan. But over the past 11+ years of being a fantasy sports analyst I have gotten far more right than I have gotten wrong.
This week however I went out on a limb and declared big comeback performances for players like Dwayne Allen, Allen Hurns and DeAndre Hopkins. Now, we all saw Hopkins get ripped off by the officials tonight but the damage was already done. Spencer Ware was my favorite play in daily fantasy football this week and he further crushed my soul as well.
What’s more is that this was the first week since Week 13 of 2014 that every single one of my DFS NFL Optimal Lineups fell outside of the paylines. Alright, my Draft Kings #4 lineup did technically squeak across the finish line in a few GPP’s but again the losses were too great.
So, allow me to apologize to each of you for the bold calls that went wrong this week. If you trusted me about Spencer Ware, Blake Bortles, Allen Hurns, Eddie Royal, Dwayne Allen or Julius Thomas that is on me. If my apology isn’t enough I invite you to take it out on me via our regular Tuesday afternoon Haterade segment on the Fantasy Alarm Show on SiriusXM radio. You can submit your Haterade entry by posting in our Forums, tweeting me @Jeff_Mans or posting on the SiriusXM Facebook page.
In case you are curious here are some players that I was technically right about this week though (skip over if you are still pissed)
Others I Was Right About
Kirk Cousins, QB, Redskins
Colin Kaepernick, QB, 49ers
LeGarrette Blount, RB, Patriots
Dion Lewis, RB, Patriots
Julian Edelman, WR, Patriots
Adam Thielen, WR, Vikings
Tajae Sharpe, WR, Titans
Zach Miller, TE, Bears
WRONG
We’ll forgo the formalities and the player write-ups for this part too this week. Here are the players that did me in this week.
Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Steelers
Blake Bortles, QB, Jaguars
Robert Kelley, RB, Redskins
Spencer Ware, RB, Chiefs
Larry Fitzgerald, WR, Cardinals

Allen Hurns, WR, Jaguars

Remember, Week 12 starts in just three days so let’s forget about this abortion known as Week 11 and get ready to smash the world this week. I am pissed off and when I’m pissed off, I usually win and win big.
