MLB Weather Updates

Colorado Rockies vs Atlanta Braves

Possible thunderstorms in the Atlanta area makes this game a bit risky. It all depends on where the storms move around the area. If they pass over the stadium we could be in for a delay or PPD.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs Chicago Cubs

Pitchers paradise here tonight. Winds blowing IN at 15-to-20 MPH.

DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

Most rosters tonight will be centered around Marcus Stroman as my top pitching option while sprinkling in a mix of top tier starters. When it comes to hitters, we are all about the stacks. The Rockies are starting Kyle Freeland here tonight who is pretty much the human version of a trash can and the Braves hammer southpaws. If the weather holds out, this will be my top stack. I also think, on a smaller slate, taking risks can lead to success, so I'm likely having some stacks against Ohtani here tonight who has been knocked around in each of his last two starts.

Favorite Starters to Use for DFS Lineups

Marcus Stroman, Chicago Cubs

Easily the top pitcher on the board today.  Not only is Stroman +135 to get the win tonight but we also have some very favorable weather here with winds blowing in at 15-to-20 miles per hour which is a big boost in that ballpark even with Stroman being a ground ball pitcher. 

Sonny Gray, Minnesota Twins

Gray has slumped a bit of late but the opponents have been pretty tough. The Tigers present a much easier matchup for Gray and he even has a decent projected strikeout total in this game at 6.5 strikeouts with decent win equity. 

AJ Smith-Shawver,  Atlanta Braves

We've loved targeting the Rockies here with opposing pitchers and while it didn't work out too well with the Red Sox starters,  the price is just too good to ignore here today.  As long as the weather holds out I will have some shares here of the Braves rookie.

Ronald Acuna Jr., Atlanta Braves

Again, weather permitting, but we have Acuna hitting .378 with an OPS of 1.083 over the last 10 games. The Braves as a team hammer left handed pitching and while Acuna is expensive, on a small slate, he is a GPP winner.

Jose Abreu, Houston Astros

The man is HOT right now, hitting .333 with a .959 OPS over the last 10 games with three home runs and 11 RBI. Abreu has historically hammered left-handed pitching and over the past two weeks he has a .663 wOBA and a .444 ISO.

Chas McCormick, Houston Astros

Leading off!!! We had McCormick as the homer call on the show the other night and he came through for us in a big way. He faces another lefty here today and the slugging percentage and ISO against left-handed pitching is among the best on the Astros roster.
