Welcome to the Fantasy Alarm MLB DFS Playbook for Tuesday, September 16th!

Welcome to Tuesday! The Phillies have clinched the NL East, the Mariners are on a 9-game winning streak and half a game up in the AL West (fueled by a witch?), it sure feels like September baseball is in full swing. We have another great 11-game slate in store for us today on both DraftKings and FanDuel starting at 7:10 PM ET. Plenty of great baseball today, and our expert analysis is here to guide you through the top pitchers, value plays, and stackable offenses to target.

Whether chasing big GPP prizes or grinding cash games, we’ve got you covered with insights tailored to today’s matchups. Let’s jump right into the key plays and strategies to dominate the slate!

This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.

The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.

The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.

The stacks section will bring you are favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.

MLB Weather: Tuesday, 9/16

There are some early thunderstorms for this game, but it looks like they should clear out without a problem. I am guessing that at worst, we get a slight delay, but keep an eye on it as we get closer to game time if you are pitching Logan Gilbert.

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers

Let's get into today's core pitching plays for our DFS lineups

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Logan Gilbert, Seattle Mariners

Logan Gilbert had that rough outing against the Phillies back in August, where he only went 2 innings, but since then, he has bounced back and has looked fantastic. He went right out after that and struck out 13 batters and has continued to strike guys out after that start as well with 34 strikeouts in his last 22.2 innings. Facing the Royals in Kansas City today shouldn’t slow him down at all, and he is my favorite pitcher today on a slate full of quality arms.

Cam Schlittler, New York Yankees

Cam Schlittler continues to look amazing for the Yankees. He had the one short outing against the Blue Jays, but before that had three straight games with 8 strikeouts, and after that he bounced back with a quality start and the win, giving up only 1 earned run in 6 innings and striking out 7. I expect the strikeouts to continue to pile up today against the Twins.

Andrew Abbott, Cincinnati Reds

Andrew Abbott’s success continues to confound me, but he just had another great start, going 8 innings against the Padres, giving up only one run off a solo homer and striking out 6. He has struck out at least 6 in 5 of his last 6 games (he had 5 in the other). Now he gets a good matchup against the Cardinals in St. Louis, and this success should continue to roll.

Michael McGreevy, St. Louis Cardinals

If you're looking for a budget-friendly option today, Michael McGreevy is in a great position to deliver solid value at a very low price. He has shown some strikeout ability and has been racking up a lot of quality starts recently. He has some not-so-great starts sprinkled in as well, but at this price, getting to face the Reds outside of Cincinnati (and in a great pitchers' park), I think he is a great one to take a shot on if you don’t want to pay up for pitching.

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

Let's check out today's core plays to build our lineups around.

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Milwaukee Brewers

Sure, Caden Dana just struck out 9 against the Twins in 4.2 innings, but he still gave up 5 runs off of 5 hits and 5 walks (and 2 homers) in that outing. I don’t trust him at all against this strong Brewers team, and they are easily my favorite offense to stack today. I think you can really make any stack you want today and I will approve of it, but my favorites are Christian Yelich, Jackson Chourio, Brice Turang, William Contreras, Isaac Collins, and Sal Frelick.

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Giants are apparently throwing out Tristan Beck for his first start of the season and then whoever will follow (I can’t imagine Beck going more than 3 innings). While the Diamondbacks have had a largely disappointing season and their offense isn’t as strong as it was pre-deadline, they can still put up an offensive onslaught occasionally. I probably am not doing a 5-man stack like I would consider with the Brewers. Still, especially the top guys in AZ like Ketel Marte, Corbin Carroll, and Geraldo Perdomo should definitely be considered, and I don’t hate taking a shot on someone like Jake McCarthy or Alek Thomas either.

Tampa Bay Rays

Jose Berrios continues to be inconsistent, as he always is, with some solid starts and some not-so-great starts, and the strikeout numbers are all over the place. I don’t trust him to survive a start in Steinbrenner against the Rays. I think the Rays are a good place to fill in the gaps around your lineup, but if you aren’t feeling the Brewers or Diamondbacks as much, I could see a full 5-man stack with the Rays doing well, with guys like Junior Caminero, Yandy Diaz, Brandon Lowe, Chandler Simpson, and Josh Lowe.
