MLB DFS Weather Conditions for August 24, 2025
NYM @ ATL: Spotty showers and storms possible, 30% chance of rain. Likely a dry game, but a shower could cause a delay if it hits the ballpark.
WAS @ PHI: Very low chance of a stray shower. Winds blowing out at ~10 mph.
HOU @ BAL: Small chance of a single shower, unlikely to disrupt. Winds ~10 mph, slightly out to left and right to left.
KCR @ DET: Cluster of showers may arrive during the game. Unclear if it’s light enough to play through or will cause a brief delay. Check radar before the game.
MIN @ CHW: Low chance of a stray shower. Winds blowing out to left-center at 15 mph.
Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers
Core MLB DFS Pitchers
Ranger Suarez vs Washington Nationals
Suarez has been one of the better pitchers in baseball this season and while he struggled in two of his last three outings we saw him look strong in his most recent start, striking out 10 over six innings against the Mariners.
Today’s matchup against the Nationals presents a much more favorable opponent to target.
Kevin Gausman vs Miami Marlins
It has been an up and down season for Gausman but he’s on a stretch of solid outings and while the Marlins offense has been good at times we can’t ignore the fact that missing Kyle Stowers from the lineup really changes your perception when it comes to starting a pitcher against them.Â
Merrill Kelly vs Cleveland Guardians
Kelly has been as good for the Rangers as he was for the Diamondbacks which is good for us playing DFS because it means we should be able to rely on a quality outing with a handful of strikeouts with limited damage done against him. We should also possibly be encouraged with this matchup today after we saw Jack Leiter dominate this lineup.Â
Eury Perez vs Toronto Blue Jays
The value pitching options on this slate are not good so while I’d almost never willingly start a pitcher against the Blue Jays we can throw a dart at Eury Perez because he has the best pure stuff of anyone in his price range. We’ve seen flashes of elite swing and miss stuff from Perez this season but hes still throwing too many pitches and control can be a problem. It’s not ideal but if you have to pick someone cheap he would be the guy.
Recommended MLB DFS Hitters
Core MLB DFS Hitters
Philadelphia Phillies Lefties vs Jake Irvin
If you’ve paid attention to our content this season on the MLB DFS Show then you know this is a no-brainer spot today as Nationals starter Jake Irvin has horrendous numbers against lefties, allowing 2.1 HR/9 and a .530 slugging percentage.
New York Mets vs Bryce Elder
Punching bag #2 for us today is Bryce Elder. Another starting pitcher with just overall poor peripheral numbers that we love to target when on the mound. Elder doesn’t discriminate either, both lefties and righties do the damage with righties hitting him slightly better overall.
Chicago White Sox vs Taj Bradley
It was the White Sox who ended Bradley’s Tampa Bay Rays career as they roughed him up in his final start which led to him demotion to Triple-A and then eventual trade to the Twins. Things have not gone well for Bradley in the Twins Triple-A organization with the righty posting an ERA north of 7.00.
The White Sox offense has also sparked this series and have been a good hitting team against RHP for the last month.
Detroit Tigers vs Seth Lugo
The Tigers have seemingly had Lugos number this season with the Royals righty having allowed seven runs on 10 hits over 10 innings against Detroit this season. The lefties are generally the target here but adding someone like Spencer Torkleson can bring the stack together which his power against right-handed pitching.
