MLB DFS Picks, Projections, Lineups & Stacks Today: Sunday Playbook

Published: May 11, 2025
Happy Mothers Day! We have a nice eight game main slate to end the week featuring some top matchups and pitchers for us to build our lineups around for your GPP and Cash game contests on DraftKings and FanDuel so let us dive in!
Â
This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.
The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.
The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.
The stacks section will bring you our favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.
Make sure you subscribe to the Fantasy Alarm YouTube channel so you never miss a show! Also, join the Fantasy Alarm Discord to get your DFS lineup questions answered by our MLB DFS team! Plus, as always, be sure to check in with our MLB DFS Tools, with the Daily MLB Projections, MLB DFS Rostership Projections, and our MLB DFS Lineup Generator when building those lineups today to help you decide which players you should be targeting.

MLB DFS Picks & MLB Playbook
MLB Weather: Sunday, 5/11
Milwaukee Brewers vs Tampa Bay Rays
- Rain is going to be in the area and there is potential for pop-up storms as well. We could have a delayed start and then delays throughout the game if they are going to try and get this one in.

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers
MacKenzie Gore is the top priced pitcher on the slate as he takes on a tough Cardinals lineup but the most interesting matchup up of the day for me is going to be Sandy Alcantara against the Chicago White Sox. Alcantara has been horrifically bad this season but the White Sox have been one of out favorite teams to use pitchers against. What ends up winning today?
Core MLB DFS Pitchers
Chris Sale, Atlanta Braves
After a REALLY tough start to his season, Sale has settled down nicely over his last two starts, allowing just two runs over 13.2 innings while striking out 20.Â
Today he faces a Pirates team that ranks towards the bottom of the league against left-handed pitching and they will more than likely be without Oneil Cruz who left yesterday's game with back tightness.Â
Nathan Eovaldi, Texas Rangers
Eovaldi has been a stud this season, posting a 2.03 ERA with a 0.80 WHIP. He's faced good offenses before and found success this season so I'm not too worried about the Tigers even with how good they are swinging the bat.
Sean Burke, Chicago White Sox
Complete dart throw here but Burke has allowed one or fewer earned runs in three of his last four starts and he has gone at least six innings in back-to-back outings.
If we think the White Sox offense can put some runs on the board against Alcantara today there's a shot at a $5,300 pitcher on DraftKings getting a win.
Â
Recommended MLB DFS Hitters
The Royals are my top play today as they take on Lucas Giolito but there are a few other offenses that have been inconsistent this year with some good matchups that are worth taking a look at this afternoon.
Core MLB DFS Hitters
Kansas City Royals
Lucas Giolito is who we thought he was. After a surprisingly OK start in his debut, he got absolutely shelled in his most recent outing and that is a trend I'm expecting to continue because I just don't think he is all that good. He had some really bad numbers at the minor league level during his rehab outings so nothing suggests he isn't the same pitcher who was really bad two years ago before missing all of last season with arm troubles.
Cincinnati Reds
Ronel Blanco is another pitcher that consistently skirts by on some questionable sabermetric stats. The Reds hung a big number on the board yesterday against Lance McCullers and the Astros bullpen and we know there is enough fire-power in this lineup to score runs when they face bad pitching.
Washington Nationals
Speaking of questionable pitching, the Cardinals are sending Miles Mikolas to the mound here against the Nationals. Mikolas is not a good pitcher and the Nationals offense have some exciting bats in their lineup like CJ Abrams and James Wood that should be locked in today in this matchup.
