MLB DFS Lineup Picks: Starting Pitchers
MLB DFS Top Pitchers
Cam Schlittler (NYY)
Analysis: The Mets have done absolutely nothing against right-handed pitching this year. They're 27th or worse in wOBA, OPS, and wRC+ and Schlittler's been one of the league's best pitchers. He has a massive ceiling and is the sixth-highest rostered pitcher of the day.
Spencer Strider (ATL)
Analysis: The worst offense in the league against righties belongs to the Boston Red Sox. They're 30th in wRC+ and have a 23% K-rate to boot. Strider has elite strikeout stuff and is missing bats early and often this year.
MLB DFS Value Pitchers
Emerson Hancock (SEA)
Analysis: Let's face it, the Padres are a good team but they can't hit. They're 25th in OPS, 26th in wOBA, and 25th in wRC+ against right-handed pitching while striking out 23.1% of the time. Hancock has twice put up 34+ DKP this year, which shows you the upside and is barely being rostered.
Tanner Bibee (CLE)
Analysis: There's some good stuff going for Tanner Bibee as his strikeout prop sits at 6.5 against a bad Reds offense. The Reds rank 20th or worse in OPS, wOBA, and wRC+ against righties. Bibee has started to miss bats and is coming off a season-high 9 Ks last time out.
Top Options For Strikeouts
The three top strikeout targets in today's MLB DFS projections each carry a K/9 above 10.9 and favorable opponent strikeout splits. K-prop lines and value ratings are incorporated below for DFS and prop context. These are the arms building the highest strikeout ceilings on the nine-game slate.
Our model identifies these arms as the highest-ceiling plays for Alt-K lines today:
Spencer Strider: 35% K% (13.5 K/9) (two starts)
Cam Schlittler: 29.2% K% (9.9 K/9)
Emerson Hancock: 27% K% (9.4 K/9)
Jack Leiter: 26.2% K% (10.3 K/9)
Joe Ryan: 24.9% K% (9.1 K/9)
Best Odds For A Win
The following MLB DFS picks offer a combination of favorable win odds, sustainable ERA and xFIP metrics, and soft opponent matchups. Each carry K-prop lines worth noting alongside their DFS value at reduced ownership relative to the top tier.
- Cam Schlittler: +130
- Emerson Hancock: +131
- Spencer Strider: +146
- Janson Junk: +149
MLB DFS Lineup Picks: Stacks & Hitters
MLB DFS Top Hitters
Shohei Ohtani (1B/OF, LAD)
Analysis: We're three years into Jack Kochanowicz's career and he still hasn't gotten lefties out. He's been a little better this year, but stuff under the hood suggests luck on his side. Lefties have a .291/.371/.455 slash against him. Ohtani has good expected numbers vs. RHP posting a .220 xISO and .382 xwOBA.
Corbin Carroll & Ketel Marte (OF/2B, ARI)
Analysis: Righties are hitting .293 with a .378 wOBA and lefties are hitting .292 with a .386 wOBA against Kyle Freeland this season. Now he has to navigate Coors Field in warm weather? Yikes. The last time Ketel Marte had below a .180 ISO against lefties was 2017. NINE years ago. Carroll has had success against lefties this year too posting a .255 ISO and .217 wOBA
Shea Langeliers (C, ATH)
Analysis: The righties have been the one's giving Tyler Mahle massive issues as they've posted a .250 ISO, .214 xISO, .427 wOBA, and .419 xwOBA. Langeliers himself has a .288 ISO, .328 xISO, .435 wOBA, .434 xwOBA against righties.
Mickey Moniak (OF, COL)
Analysis: Lefties have absolutely KILLED Merrill Kelly this year and thus, we have a lefty in Colorado demolishing baseballs. Kelly has allowed a .414 ISO, .458 xISO, .505 wOBA, and .544 xwOBA to southpaws. Moniak himself has a .400 ISO and .482 wOBA against right-handers and has a 1.200 OPS at home.
MLB DFS Value Hitters
Nolan Arenado (3B, ARI)
Analysis: Nolan Arenado has had a really solid month of May up to this point as he has an .823 OPS, .189 ISO, and .363 wOBA. He's one of the cheaper options on Arizona as they head into Coors Field.
Zack Gelof (3B/OF, ATH)
Analysis: Gelof is on a little heater right about now and faces off against a pitcher that struggles against right-handed hitters. Gelof has a .292 ISO and .403 wOBA and Tyler Mahle has a .250 ISO and .427 wOBA allowed to righties.
Ryan Waldschmidt (OF, ARI)
Analysis: The rookie gets his first Coors Field experience today and the price is fantastic. He's going to be popular because of the talent and the ballpark/matchup. Righties this year have a .212 ISO and .378 wOBA against Kyle Freeland this season.
MLB DFS Top Stacks
Primary Stack: Arizona Diamondbacks vs Kyle Freeland (COL LHP)
Why: The Diamondbacks have a slate-high 6.2 implied runs and it's elite hitting weather in Colorado tonight. Kyle Freeland has pitched poorly against both splits as both sides of the dish have hit him hard. Lefties have a .250 ISO and .386 wOBA and righties are at .212 ISO and .378 wOBA. Ketel Marte, Corbin Carroll, Geraldo Perdomo, Nolan Arenado, and Lourdes Gurriel are the primary five-pack.
Primary Stack: Colorado Rockies vs Merrill Kelly (ARI RHP)
Why: Lefties against Merrill Kelly is the thing. THE thing, possibly of the entire slate. Lefties have posted a .414 ISO, .458 xISO, .505 wOBA, and .544 xwOBA against Kelly this season. The Rockies have a bunch of lefties to throw at him in Mickey Moniak, TJ Rumfield, Troy Johnston, Willi Castro, Eduard Julien, and Jake McCarthy. You can also slot in Hunter Goodman into a Rockies stack to boot.
Primary Stack: Los Angeles Dodgers vs Jack Kochanowicz (LAA RHP)
Why: The Dodgers have a LOT of lefties to throw at Jack Kochanowicz and that's where he struggles a LOT. Shohei Ohtani, Kyle Tucker, Max Muncy, and Freddie Freeman could be an elite four-pack from the left side.
"Contrarian" Stack: Athletics vs Tyler Mahle (SF RHP)
Why: Righties have really hit Tyler Mahle hard and lefties have an elevated flyball rate, which is BAD business in Sutter Health Field. Righties have a .250 ISO and .214 xISO along with a .427 wOBA and .419 xwOBA this year and he's definitely had some luck against lefties. The home run upside of Shea Langeliers, Nick Kurtz, Brent Rooker, Zack Gelof, and Henry Bolte stand out.
"Contrarian" Stack: San Francisco Giants vs Aaron Civale (ATH RHP)
Why: The surface level numbers favor the lefties but the under-the-hood stuff favor the righties. Elevated flyball rates scare me in Sutter Health Park. The Giants do have some pop against righties with Rafael Devers, Casey Schmitt, Bryce Eldridge, Heliot Ramos, and Willy Adames.
MLB DFS Lineups: Core MLB DFS Hitters & Pitchers
| The "Chalk" (Popular) | The "Pivot" (Low Owned) | The Winning Logic |
| Snell (SP, chalk) | Strider (SP, similar tier) | Elite matchup for both, Strider very low owned. |

| Marte + Carroll (chalk) | Langeliers + Gelof (lower owned) | Lower owned pop outside of Coors Field but still in elite game environment. |
