The election is finally over and now we don’t have to hear any of that anymore. It’s time to study the wide receivers and elect the lucky few that get to serve in your hopefully successful fantasy lineups. All five guys on this list are target monsters and I love chasing targets when setting my fantasy lineups. In theory, more targets are more of an opportunity to produce, which in turn, theoretically leads to more fantasy points. Does it always work out that way? Not always, but more often than not, it does.
Here are the top 5 wide receivers for Week 10 of the NFL season.
Antonio Brown vs. DAL
Even with Big Ben playing terribly, and injured, Brown found a way to produce for his fantasy owners. It was ugly for a long time, but he managed to catch a few passes late in the game, and a touchdown, to salvage his fantasy day. The Cowboys have allowed a receiving touchdown to wide receiver in every game but one this season and one has to figure that Brown will be the guy with the best chance to score for Pittsburgh in Week 10.
Mike Evans vs. CHI
Evans is leading the league in targets and he just had a whopping 17 on Thursday night from quarterback Jameis Winston. The receiver is averaging 12.6 targets per game and the Bears are allowing the most fantasy points per game to wide receivers in all of football. He’s still in the concussion protocol, but he is a must start if he’s active on Sunday.
Julio Jones @ PHI
Jones is the top scoring fantasy wideout this season and he gets to face off against an Eagles defense that just allowed four touchdowns to wide receivers last week. No member of the Philadelphia secondary can slow down Jones and if you ask me, 125 yards is the floor this week.
Jordy Nelson @ TEN
Nelson continues to do excellent work in the end zone this season. He’s scored a touchdown in every game but two this season, and he’s tallied exactly 94 yards and a touchdown the last two weeks. Nelson is once again a WR1 and he should be able to find the end zone against a Tennessee defense that has allowed 14 passing touchdowns on the year.
Alshon Jeffery @ TB
The Bucs are allowing the second-most fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts and with Jay Cutler back under center, Jeffery is a low-end WR1 this week. Jeffery saw eight targets last game and he could flirt with double-digits on Sunday.
