Caught Stealing Episode 21: Second Base, Closers & Other Fantasy Baseball Nightmares

The first half of the 2025 MLB season is coming to a close, and fantasy baseball owners are looking to finish it out strong while setting themselves up for a big second half. The problem is, fantasy baseball trades can be tough to pull off, and there are a number of glaring weaknesses around MLB to factor in. Certain positions lack firepower, and even when looking for help, whether it’s on the waiver wire or a potential deal, you just don’t know what the future holds.

In this episode of the Caught Stealing podcast, Howard Bender and Colby Conway discuss why you don’t trade for closers in keeper or dynasty leagues, the lack of talent found at the second base position, players hitting the injured list, and those who are on the mend. They also play another round of “What Are We to Believe” where they discuss some of the recent hot and cold streaks players are enduring while also offering up waiver wire suggestions to finish the first half on a high note.

Enjoy!
