Once we get through the first month and the calendar flips to May, fantasy baseball players tend to get really antsy when it comes to rookies. As we’ve mentioned on the Caught Stealing podcast in the recent past, there is a serious learning curve and while the excitement is there for potential, upside and ceiling (three of the dirtiest words in fantasy sports), you have to learn how to exhibit patience. Remember, when Mike Trout and Aaron Judge were first called up, they were terrible.

Wyatt Langford was a hot mess in the first half of last season and it takes time for some rookies to find their feet once they’re promoted to the majors. Very few players come up and consistently perform as you would hope.
In this episode, Howard Bender and Colby Conway take a look at the 2025 MLB rookies and what
fantasy baseball players can hope for in the future.

They discuss player performances, potential call-ups and which players can/should be stashed on your roster. Fair warning: if you are one of those people who insists on grabbing every rookie off the fantasy baseball waiver wire, you may be disappointed in some of the assessments.

Enjoy!
