Before we jump into the MLB World Series Game 4 Best Bets, let’s quickly set the stage. Freddie Freeman was the hero last night with his walk-off blast in the 18th inning. Shohei Ohtani also hit two homers and reached base 9 times. Both teams used every available reliever to get through the insane evening as well. 

Now, Los Angeles and Toronto turn around and do it all again on Tuesday with Game 4 on deck. Can the Blue Jays respond to even up the series? Or will the Dodgers carry the momentum over from enduring that Game 3 marathon? Let’s now get to our Blue Jays vs. Dodgers predictions and MLB World Series Game 4 Best Bets. 

Blue Jays vs. Dodgers World Series Game 4 Predictions: Tuesday, October 28th

World Series Game 4 features a starting pitching matchup of Shane Bieber vs. Shohei Ohtani. These two arms should keep the game lower-scoring early on. Let’s grab the under for the first five innings tonight. 

Ohtani was dominant in his NLCS start, striking out 10 across 6 shutout innings against the Brewers. He also notched 9 strikeouts in 6 strong innings against the Phillies in the NLDS. Though the Toronto offense presents a tougher matchup this time, Ohtani can still be effective enough to limit the scoring. 

The Dodgers’ right-hander was also excellent in the regular season, with a 2.87 ERA and 1.90 FIP. Plus, he now boasts a 1.14 ERA over his past 6 starts, including the postseason. Of course, it’s fair to wonder if Ohtani will be limited at all following last night’s effort at the plate in an endless game. It will likely impact how deep he goes, but the stuff should still be good early. 

The quick turnaround from last night could also negatively impact the hitters on both sides. We’ll likely see some tired bats that take a couple of innings to wake up. That matters more for Toronto, though, having to face a guy who can throw 100 mph like Ohtani. Plus, the Blue Jays’ lineup could be downgraded if George Springer is out after leaving Game 3 with an apparent oblique injury. 

On the other side, Shane Bieber can hold his own early on as well. The Jays’ righty has been up and down this postseason, with a 4.38 ERA over his 3 starts. However, he was great in his ALCS Game 3 outing vs. Seattle, with 8 strikeouts over 6 innings of 2-run ball. Bieber is now on extra rest, too, since starting Game 7 of the ALCS. 

Things could start to unravel later on in this game, once both starters reach their limit and the fatigued bullpens enter the discussion. So, let’s just worry about the first five innings and take the under. 

 

 

 

Best World Series Game 4 Player Prop Bets & Other Picks Today, 10/28

Let’s keep the Blue Jays vs. Dodgers predictions coming with some MLB player prop bets. Toronto will surely want some length out of Shane Bieber today after what transpired last night. The Jays used up every reliever available, with most going more than one inning. Max Scherzer lasted just 4.2 innings, too, which forced the bullpen into action earlier. 

Grab the over on Bieber’s outs prop as he should last 5+ innings today. It’s possible that Toronto just rides its starter even if he allows runs early. Tomorrow’s Game 5 starter is TBD, but expected to be rookie Trey Yesavage. It could be a must-win scenario to stay alive in the World Series, so the Jays will want their relievers available. 

After Shohei Ohtani smacked two home runs and two doubles in his first four plate appearances last night, the Blue Jays made a business decision. They intentionally walked him the next 4 times he came to the plate, and then walked him another time in the 17th inning. Can you blame them? In Game 4, Toronto may choose to pitch to Ohtani in the first inning when he leads off. After that, it could be another walk-fest for the two-way star.
