Along with Fridays being jam-packed in general, it’s also time to get used to the classic afternoon Chicago Cubs games at Wrigley Field. Not only that, but right after that 2:20 PM ET matchup is a featured ESPN game of Diamondbacks vs. Phillies for us to consider in terms of our MLB best bets today.

We’ll also be able to make some MLB expert picks on an ace to tee off the weekend, like Max Fried and other starters that fans like to pick on, such as Patrick Corbin. Those are two lefties on the mound, and there are plenty of lefty bats to enjoy. Beyond the aforementioned ESPN game is actually an Apple TV doubleheader as well.

🔥 Nationals vs. Brewers Best Bet: Milwaukee -1.5 (+104 at Novig)

Before we get too deep into this first pick, we also expect plenty of runs at the Great American Ballpark in Milwaukee. Of course, we expect more of them to come by the hands of Christian Yelich and the Brewers, hence our MLB best bets today. They’re taking on Washington starter Jake Irvin, which is good news for Milwaukee.

The righty has had six starts against the Brew Crew, and he’s 0-5 in those outings. These aren’t far distant past matchups either; two were last season, two the year before, and two the year before that. Something about the Brewers gets the best of both him and Washington overall, as the Nats were 0-6 against Milwaukee last year.

On the other end of the spectrum in terms of ballpark factors, Busch Stadium is looking quite pitcher-friendly today. That’s why we’re going to be rooting against runs for Red Sox vs. Cardinals with our MLB best bets today, even with the low total. As for St. Louis, they’re starting Dustin May tonight.

He’s a guy who has great stuff and that the Los Angeles Dodgers wanted to believe in, but injuries have altered his career path.
