MLB Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 6/25

Blue Jays vs. Red Sox Predictions

Big matchup in the AL East this weekend as the Blue Jays and Red Sox try to make up ground on the wild card race! It could be a pitchers' duel tonight as Jose Berrios is on the mound for Toronto and Brayan Bello for Boston. How does that affect the betting? Let’s dive into it!

In the month of June, the Blue Jays have played better baseball and are now pulling into contention, and it's because of the play of their starter, Berrios. Over his last 4 starts this month, he’s allowed just 7 earned runs and 19 hits over 25 innings pitched. The strikeouts have also been rather consistent, with 5 in his last couple of starts. I am interested in the Ks today as the Red Sox lineup has been whiffing hard over the past 2 weeks at 27.4%! That means getting to 6 strikeouts for Berrios, while a high number for him is more than attainable, and it's plus money, so that’ll be a bet to lock in.

Another wager to make will be the under on 8.5 runs, as Bello on the mound for Boston has also been excellent. His ERA of 2.49 over the last 4 starts has really kept the Red Sox in games even though they’ve lost 5 straight heading into tonight’s matchup. I expect a low-scoring game considering the pitching matchup and the fact that Boston has scored just 14 runs over their last 5 games, so let’s rock with the under.

Pick: Jose Berrios (TOR) Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+120 on DraftKings)

Pick: Blue Jays & Red Sox Under 8.5 Runs (-110 on DraftKings)

Giants vs. White Sox Predictions

An interleague series starts tonight between the Giants and White Sox, and it could be a sweet matchup for the West Coast team! Starting off tonight, it's Landen Roupp against Aaron Civale. Let’s jump into the trends that make this game worth wagering on.

Starting with Civale, he’s the most average pitcher in the majors year after year, and now he plays for one of the worst teams in baseball. He doesn’t get lit up in ERA every outing, but he’s sitting at 5.03, which isn’t great. His greatest weakness, though, is allowing too many hits and giving up an OBP of .351! In his past 2 starts since being traded, he’s given up 15 total hits in 12 innings pitched, so that makes me perk up for some batting props for the Giants tonight. Willy Adames is the name I like as Civale has struggled against righties this season, and Adames is hitting .368 with a .961 OPS over the past 7 games. He is hitting deeper in the lineup, which is okay given he should have base runners to hit around the bags, so give me the over on his hits/runs/RBIs today.

In addition to the prop, I am going to take the Giants on the alternate Run Line tonight as they are nearly .500 on the road, which is just fine for MLB standards, and the White Sox have lost 7 of their last 10 games! Roupe should also make things simple on the mound as he’s rocking an ERA in the low threes since the start of May.

Pick: Willy Adames (SF) Over 1.5 Hits/Runs/RBIs (-135 on DraftKings)

Pick: Giants Alt Run Line -1 (-120 on DraftKings)
