MLB Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 6/25

Nationals vs. Padres Predictions

For all their shortcomings, the Nationals are playing competitive games night in and night out lately, and their offense has also impressed with 32 runs scored over their past 5 games! Will things continue in the series finale against the Padres and Nick Pivetta? Let’s break it down!

The Nats' bats are troublesome for any pitcher right now as they swing away and do so often confidently! That could be an issue for Nick Pivetta today as he’s seen his great start to the season go belly up in June! His ERA has ballooned to 6.23 this month, and he has given up 22 hits in 21.2 innings pitched. His wOBA remains one of the highest for the Padres as well at .324! The Nationals also hit right-handed hitters well with Luis Garcia Jr., James Wood, and CJ Abrams all hitting .280 or better on the season.

Those stats, mixed with the fact that MacKenzie Gore is going to pitch for the Nationals with his 3.19 ERA, so the Padres are going to face an uphill battle trying to keep up with the Washington offense. Gore’s 123 strikeouts also rank 3rd overall in MLB right now, so he is gassing batters up. For tonight, give me the Nationals Money Line at plus money and let me also put down Luis Garcia Jr. to go over 1.5 hits/runs/RBIs as he’s hitting .370 over the past 7 games and will look to stay hot!

Pick: Nationals Money Line (+125 on DraftKings)

Pick: Luis Garcia Jr. (WSH) Over 1.5 Hits/Runs/RBIs (-110 on DraftKings)

Dodgers vs. Rockies Predictions

Chances are, I don’t even need to write up a rationale on this game to tell you that betting the Dodgers against the Rockies is a great way to make money, but since our managing editor Jon Impemba likes a full article here, we go!

Yoshinobu Yamamoto will take the mound tonight for the Dodgers, and he’s been their ace all season long with a 2.76 ERA and 1.09 WHIP! The strikeout numbers have also been great over the past 50 innings pitched, as he has 52 Ks during that stretch. Seeing as the Rockies have a K-rate of 26.7% they may have some issues keeping this one competitive!

On the offensive side, the Dodgers are, of course, one of the best offenses in baseball, but against a pitcher like Chase Dollander, their numbers should get a boost. Dollander has maintained an ERA of 6.19 over the course of 12 starts and has been allowing over a hit per inning as well. In addition to all of that, the Rockies pitcher is allowing a .341 average at home and has struggled against righty and lefty bats. This makes a player like Andy Pages interesting for tonight as his numbers won’t be as inflated as the other Dodgers bats, and he’s hitting .304 with a .845 OPS over the past 7 days. I will be taking the over on his hits/runs/RBIs as well as eating the chalk of the Dodgers on the Run Line of -2.5!

Pick: Dodgers Run Line -2.5 (-150 on DraftKings)

Pick: Andy Pages (LAD) Over 2.5 Hits/Runs/RBIs (-110 on BetMGM)
