MLB Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 3/29
Twins vs. Orioles Predictions
The opening series between the Twins and Orioles wraps up this afternoon over in Camden Yards and it could be a nice afternoon for the home team as Bailey Ober takes the bump for Minnesota against Shane Baz.Â
Targeting Ober was a source of income last season for me and the Fantasy Alarm followers, and I intend on staying strapped to this cash cow. In 27 starts last season, Ober had a 5.1 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and just 120 strikeouts over 146.1 innings pitched. What’s more is he was bad against righties and lefties, allowing an OPS over .800 against both and in day games in 2025 he was allowing opposing batters an average of .276 and 18 total homers on 79.2 innings pitched. All this figures to set up for a huge afternoon for the O’s and the debut of Shane Baz for them. Baz has had a strange career, but we know the talent is there and for what its worth, he’s been pretty good when healthy. He wrapped up last season with 22.1 inning pitched in September at held teams to just seven earned runs during that stretch while posting 26 strikeouts. All that said, the Orioles Money Line is a top bet for tonight.Â
Not stopping there though, as I need to attack Ober with a player prop! I fully believe today is the day that Pete Alonso becomes acquainted with his new city and not just because he’s due, but because he mashed righties in 2025 with a .929 OPS and had 29 of 38 home runs against them. He is also a great day time baseball player with a .894 OPS and 47 RBIs in 231 plate appearances so let’s take the Polar Bear to go over his prop of 1.5 hits/runs/RBIs and have a day!
- Pick: Orioles Money Line (-150 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
- Pick: Pete Alonso (BAL) Over 1.5 Hits/Runs/RBIs (-125 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

Angels vs. Astros Predictions
Back to this matchup again, as it closes out this Sunday afternoon! The Angels pitching staff after Soriano is just so bad that I keep circling back against them. The latest target is Jack Kochanowicz who was one of the worst starting pitchers in baseball last season with his 6.81 ERA and 1.75 in 111.0 innings pitched. He is not a strikeout guy either with a K/BB of only 1.4, so there’s no reason to be afraid of this guy. Kochanowicz is also especially poor against lefty hitters as he gave up 17 of his 21 home runs last season against them as well as a .309 average and .926 OPS over 265 at bats. If you are following me still, you know that Yordan Alvarez is a big lefty, and this is the perfect storm for him to go nuclear. Let’s start the betting at Alvarez to go over his prop of 2.5 hits/runs/RBIs as he’s done in 2-of-3 games already this season.Â
In addition to that, I like the team total prop for Houston as a whole. They may not have many lefty bats, but they do have a lot of great hitters to tee off on the Angels pitching which is especially poor today. Christian Walker, Jeremy Pena and Carlos Correa are all hitting well this season and over .300, so give me the Astros bats to heat up big time today and for them to go over 4.5 runs in the game.
- Pick: Astros Team Total Over 4.5 Runs (-125 on BetMGM Sportsbook)
- Pick: Yordan Alvarez Over 2.5 Hits/Runs/RBIs (+110 on DraftKings Sportsbook)
