MLB Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 8/27

Rockies vs. Astros Predictions

Let’s go back to the well on this series today after we narrowly missed a pair of wagers! The matchup is just as juicy for the Astros as it was yesterday, with Chase Dollander set to take the mound, and he’s been terrible, so let’s dive into the bets. 

The Rockies youngster is having a rough rookie campaign to say the least, and over 3 starts so far in August, he’s given up 12 earned runs and 20 hits in his 13.1 innings pitched. Walks have also been an issue as he’s surrendered 7 over that span. He’s likely walking into a buzz saw as well, with the Astros posting just 3 runs yesterday, and Dollander has struggled against both righties and lefties, allowing OBPs over .350 and OPS marks of over .800 as well. With all that out there and the fact that Framber Valdez will start for the Astros with his 3.32 ERA, I will be taking the Astros to win this one on the Run Line of -1.5. 

In addition to the game side of things, I like some props today as well! I am going to go right back to Carlos Correa tonight as he had a hit and 2 walks yesterday that ruined the bet but he’s still hitting .391 with a 1.022 OPS over the past week of games and is in a prime spot to post big numbers hitting 2nd in the lineup so give me the over on his hits/runs/RBIs prop tonight.
